Bob

Thanks for sharing the stories and pictures.

Wonder if they will be selling their shirts and stuff via their website some day?

One last thing, I don't know who's the wise guy that had Trace pointing out myself and others from the forums here, but it was a real treat.

Well, I guess I was wrong about it being RAD.  From the MST3K board:

Quote from: RADI want to make one thing clear though guys, it was NOT me that provided your names to Trace. It was obviously someone much cooler and nicer than myself. I have no idea who it was, but any appreciation should be directed to that anonymous person who took the time and effort to make sure you were all recognized. Truly a generous spirit, whoever it was.

I'm betting it was Trace or his wife who made up the list.  After all, Trace's wife knew who I was after RAD mentioned my first name in front of her.

Anyway, I assume that whoever made up that list reads these forums.  So, thank you.  That was an unexpected pleasure.

I don't understand why they don't make that dvd cover available on their website so we can print it out.

I wouldn't be surprised if they start selling those on their website in a little while.

So, is it worth my money? I never knew the likes of Joel, Dr. F, or Frank while they were still making the show (I was like 7 when Joel left) but I do find them sufficiently amusing. When I find an episode to watch, I generally don't care what period it was from. They were all great.

Ummmm....are you asking if the Oozing Skull is worth purchasing?  If so, you have the wrong thread.

If they acually charged me extra to print out cover art for their discs, I would stop buying their product all together.

Well.. What a Co-inkidink.. I complain a bit about not receiving any CT emails on their forum and Low & Behold, I just received one from J Elvis with pics from the Launch Party!

Hi Everyone,

Well, we couldn't have had more fun at our sold-out CT launch party in Mpls. on Tuesday!  Our deepest thanks to all of those who made it – many of whom traveled impressive distances through treacherous skies and roads to do so.  Please know how flattered we were by those efforts.  We were so glad to get the chance to meet many of you in person.  The internet is fantastic and we couldn't make this project happen without it, but the chance to connect with all these cool, supportive people like yourselves in person is really special.  I think one of the managers at the ACME Comedy Co. said it best when I arrived at the club:

"Josh, your guys fans are so awesome.  If everyone had fans that cool and nice to deal with, I'd actually like my job."

We love our movie riffing, but the opportunity for us all to do stand-up together for the first time in a couple of decades was a pretty big nostalgic thrill for all of us too.  If you saw the show, you can attest – there are 5 very different minds at work on an episode of Cinematic Titanic.

However, for those of you who just want to see the movie riffing live, we are pleased to announce...

CINEMATIC TITANIC LIVE!
SAT. OCTOBER 25th 2008
At the historic STATE THEATRE in Minneapolis, MN

A full-blown, big screen, scaffold in place live presentation in a truly fantastic venue.  I know it's nine months from now, but we will be putting tickets on sale sooner rather than later and we will make sure you folks on the mailing list are first to know when.

OTHER COOL STUFF...

PAUL FEIG writer/director and creator of "Freaks and Geeks" on CT:

"MST3K lovers of the world, rejoice! The gang is back and they're funnier than ever. I'm so happy!"

popmatters.com sure liked our dvd:

This is outstanding stuff, the kind of rapid fire revelry that sends a satiric chill down your funny bone. While it's hard to top the artistic triumph that was Mystery Science Theater 3000, what's clear is that none of the former participants have lost an ounce of their wonderfully witty edge.

hitchmagazine.com on "The Oozing Skull"

There's no "getting used" to it, nor "settling in." So "on" is their rapport, it's as if these guys never stopped working together in the first place."

A cool article on MinnPost.com by an author who's watched MST since it's first KTMA broadcast.

Q & A

Q:  When is the next Cinematic Titanic DVD coming out?

A:  Just as soon as every single person on this mailing list buys the first one...just kidding of course.  We are working on it and are hoping to shoot by the end of March.  While we are really enjoying the fun and freedom of the "artist owned and operated venture", turns out there's a whole bunch of details involved in such a thing.  We, the "artists" are slowly but surely adjusting to that fact and improving our "grown up" skills by the day.  Bear with us, we're committed to making this thing go on for a good while – we'll pick up some speed.

DID YOU KNOW?

4 out of 5 of us are members of the Writers Guild of America (if you've driven by Disney Studios in the last few months, you may have seen me picketing).  We are thrilled the strike is over and salute our fellow union members for their commitment and unity in this long, hard struggle.

All the best,
J. Elvis

I still have to post the pic I took of the whole crew-I am just too lazy to do it at the moment! I will post the link here too but again I am too lazy at the moment!! :P
