I don't buy for a second that was him.   His interference in the release of the Film Crew titles tells me he wouldn't even acknowledge the existance of these other projects, let alone post on their forums.  Until it's up on mst3k.com I'm not convinced.

RVR II

Yeah, I tend to agree.. If it doesn't appear there, then I'd be skeptical as well

I'm not convinced either.  The post is entirely unprofessional both in tone and venue, and since it'll take one of the cast members to call him up and ask "Jim, did you really post all that hateful vitriol about us?" to verify it, there's no way to tell for sure.

And it won't appear on MST3K.com.  There's no place to post it there.
I thought I was Dale.

QuoteIt is also interesting to me that many of the criticisms I receive state that I have let Mystery Science Theater 3000 wallow in the darkness; that 'others' have kept the spirit alive. In fairness, could it also not be said that these 'others' simply could not find a real job and have instead been trying to live off of the wonderful memories, feelings, and support that fans have of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

I still have my doubts that this is even Jim Mallon. But, just to play Devil's Advocate here:
Is this actually in reference to the other MST3K-alumni, or is it instead referring to people who have turned MST3K-bootlegging into their business?

-Rude
When taken in combination with the other statements about how 'bot-less riffing betrays the true spirit of MST3K, I think it's pretty clear that the poster (whoever he turns out to be) is referring to the other MST3K alumni.
I thought I was Dale.

If that really was Mallon, then why didn't he post here as well?

I saw this thread over at CT

Posted there as well... I'm just as skeptical as the next person that tghis is really Mallon

Dim of the Yard

I'm curious now.  Can a moderator from the CT Board track the IP address and see if it came from a computer in Minnesota, d'ya think?  I'm thinking just as much as the next person that it's some kind of elaborate troll, but it wouldn't hurt to do a bit of digging, ya?

Indeed, its a thought

But wouldn't they need to know Mallon's IP to match things up?

I don't know exactly how IP addresses work, but I think with a good search engine, you can determine which state houses the IP address, in the very least.  It's a long shot, but if it is a troll, maybe it's working outside of Minnesota?

Jim has been quiet for a long time now......this seems like a troll to me.  This reminds me of the guy that was posting as Andy Kaufman, and announcing on a blog that he was going on a comeback tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary tour of his death and that he faked his death the entire time.  I think it was just some guy that was bored and wanted to stir the turds.

Well you have to register for one.

He's trying to verify it, but he thinks it's legit.

If you read his post throughly and carefully, you'd had seen where he said he was commenting no further

hense why he's not saying anything else

I wouldn't put it past Mallon to be such a dick. I mean, why should he be professional? What is he, a professoinal franchise rights thief? But I kind of doubt it was him. Though, it was him in spirit anyway. I think Dr. Phil made that post so people could get their feelings out.

AmandaGal

Or the faker didn't think he could continue past one post and decided he'd claim that he would never respond.

It doesn't even take a good search engine to trace most ip address and surely, CT keeps server logs.  The IP address, even if the forum doesn't save it, shouldn't be that hard to narrow down at the very least.
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

I think it's a 'True' Conspiracy Theory.. ::)

If its that easy to look up IP addresses, then why aren't we seeking out George Lucas and spamming his inbox with Star Wars Holiday Special Riffs?
