If I got through Troll 2 AND SWHS, I can get through anything. Bring the pain!

You know, if I have to choose a movie that has caused the most deep hurting in my life, I really have to say it's Batman and Robin.  At least with Troll 2 there was no expectation of anything better than say, Hobgoblins or any movie with the word "Gamera" in it...  But you know, I went to the theatre to see Batman and Robin and I really thought I was going to be entertained, not tortured by BatNipples for 125 minutes.

Was anybody REALLY that surprised that Batman & Robin was as bad as it was, after having already see the Schu work his "magic" on Batman Forever? Nobody should have been going into the theater expecting a magnum opus... they should have gone in expecting a campy, mildly disturbing insult to the genre. Which is what we got, and why we are here today. :)

I just need to mention what the DVD promises....

"Chills and thrills : Will Gotham City be put on ice?  George Clooney is Batman as the Dark Knight battles his greatest threat yet : cold-hearted Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and venomous Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman).  Batman has more than Gotham City to protect : the youthful eagerness of crimefighting comrades Robin (Chris O'Donnell) and Batgirl (Alicia Silverstone) puts them frequently in harm's way.  New VERY special effects include a wild sky-surfing sequence and Freeze's outrageous ice-blasting arsenal.  It's state-of-the-art excitement from our Batfamily to yours."

Excuse me while I go vomit......

To title the movie "Batman Forever" should have been our first clue that Batman and Robin would blow.

"Batman Forever"....... sounds like stupid kid's graffiti than the name of a movie.   What the HELL does that mean?    Was "Batman Rules" already taken?

I think they just forgot the middle word; 'SUX'

I can't wait.

I just spent $20 getting the 2 disk set of this movie. I looked in the bargain bin at 3 Walmart for it but found nothing. I'll leave it wrapped and watch it Sunday and watch P9FOS tommorow when I get along with B&R. I'll check Target and see if they have any. Hell I might just upgrade to the box set if I'm already paying $20 for 1 movie..

Yes yes...  I believe the original working title was "Dude, Batman is so totally rad".  Batman Forever was just the next logical step.

I hear that the special edition DVD of B&R features a fantastic director's commentary track by Joel Schumacher where he basically takes the blame for the whole disaster and spends the entire length of the film apologising over and over again.
...and it STILL isn't enough of an apology.

Anyone else about to throw up due to being nervous?

Oh, just me?

Damn.

MontyServo

I just hope they put it up early today.  If they wait until this afternoon, I won't be able to watch it until tomorrow.

What is there to be nervous about?   I mean, it's not like your ENTIRE  reputation is on the line or anything...... oh wait.   ;)

As long as the riff does not have a long introductionary disclaimer, you should be fine!

RVR II

An early release would be Nice for us Eastern time zone peoples.. ::)
(HINT! HINT!)

MontyServo

Well I wouldn't expect it up before 11am east/8am west.  Since I doubt there is anyone at Rifftrax HQ before 8am.

It would be nice if they put it up first thing this morning.  I'd be able to watch it before I go to bed this afternoon. (3rd shift worker)

RVR II

Well, 5pm EST seems to be the average so Anything Before that time would be Much Obliged :)
