I propose we find as many long, or odd words using the beloved Encarta dictionary:

http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/features/dictionary/dictionaryhome.aspx

When you find a random word, (for instance, pick any word, then use the scrollbar thingy on the left to choose a word.  Then we'll see if we can't guess the defintion. But, of course, if you can't think of the definition, then just make one up.

I shall start:

tractate:

I hated writing tractates when I was in school.
Hi-Keeba!

Well, I've already got a vocabulary larger than my ability to pronounce or spell, but I suppose I can lower myself to this game (Do I sound haughty enough?)...

Parity Check:
The checks you send in when filing jointly.

You misunderstand the game....you're supposed to guess what my word means...then, come up with your own word, and use it in a sentence.

blunge:

In art class, we had to often make blunge.
Hi-Keeba!

Junkyard

Okay, I think I got it.

Blunge- One part saw dust, one part chocolate milk.

Girt
He did gert himself.

Hazzah

Girt: (or gert)

Rubbing yourself silly

Opuscule

I find Beethovens early work opuscule.
Hi-Keeba!

Junkyard

Opscule- Lacking subtlety in a way that delights the listener.

Disestablishmentarianism?

Tripe

#6
The movement to make the CoE no longer the official CoE. In other words the movement to no longer have a state religion for England.

Auriferous

Sea water is auriferous, to a minute extent.

Hazzah

mildly amusing, until the salty taste.

fleam

When I had my operation, I could actually feel the fleam!
Hi-Keeba!

Hey, if anyone is interested, we can play the game with THIS now.

And change the settings to obscure.

Sappho

This is not treated as a Proper Noun, so....  perhaps the color of sapphires?

Also, it occurs to me that we can change the rules of this very old game so that people try to guess, one person knows the answer and gives little hints along the way till someone gets it right.  Can YOU tell me what "sappho" means?  It is a noun, if that helps.

WhyDontTheyLook

Decided to just look this one up...

noun (Zoöl.) Any one of several species of brilliant South American humming birds of the genus Sappho, having very bright-colored and deeply forked tails; -- called also firetail.

Yeah, that would have been my first guess. :P

Predistortion

This predistortion will reduce the distortion.
