Okay, here's something: Is chili soup? Discuss.

No, Chili is not soup.

But, here's somthing that's really going to bake your noodle (where have I heard that before??)...is Chili a stew?

Not in my experience.  A stew is made and left to...well, stew.  While a Chili is served as soon as it's cooked.

How about:  Is Chili a casserole?

BathTub

I've seen reference to some pretty long cooked Chilli.

AmandaGal

I cook my chili for a long time.  The longer you cook it, the more the ingredients meld together and the better it tastes.

Now, the real question is: beans or no beans?  I'm sure lives have been lost over that one.
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

BBQ Platypus

I don't think some people are ready to talk about it.  My grandfather died in the War of the Beans... :'(
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

Pak-Man

It's a heated topic to be sure, and I think it's the reason we don't make chili at our house more often. I say beans! Chili's all about the beans. What else are you gonna use kidney beans for? :^)

I visit the Wall of Flatulence in Chicago every year in rememberence of those brave men.

If there was a Wall of Flatulence, it would be located in Chicago, no?
Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

Of course. It's not called the "Windy City" because of the weather.

Nice.

Chili without beans is only acceptable if it's meant to go on a chilidog.

Which raises the question: Is a hot dog a sandwich?
