I like Dude, Where's My Car?

That's not meant to be a question, as in, me asking if I like Dude, Where's My Car or me saying in disbelief that I like Dude, Where's My Car, it's just that Dude, Where's My Car has that question mark at the end of it that causes problems when composing a statement such as "I like Dude, Where's My Car?"

Anyway, I like it.

Ah!  Thank you for helping me answer the question of which work of fiction would be so idiotic that it wouldn't even really count as a book!  I now know that the answer is a novelization of Dude, Where's My Car?.

It's not quite the same thing, but I refuse to watch any of the American Pie movies. Not because I have some holier-than-thou opinion of teen sex comedies, but simply because when someone says "Remember in American Pie..." I enjoy being able to say "I've never seen it." "I've never seen American Pie" has become the new "I don't watch television." (I don't watch TV either, but actually saying it sounds way too pretensious.)

The American Pie films not only lowered the bar for American cinema they actually weakened the very foundations of our society. They were that powerful!

You've never watched a Quentin Tarantino film in your life.

Tarantino is one of the best directors working today. Every one of his films is brilliant.

I'm definitely looking forward to Grind House (a double feature by Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, who is another one of the best directors working today) -- it looks so freaking cool. 8)

I like Quentin Tarantino movies, but I need to disagree with your assessment.  He is not so great that everything he touches is gold.  Example, the Kill Bill movies were good but bastardly overrated.  And even with the movies I like, there's still much better stuff out there.  So all I ask is that you don't suck his dick, you can like his movies, but don't be cyber-fellating him.

I thought I read somewhere about how some film school student went back and re-edited one of Tarantino's films so that it's in chronological order and realized that when you watch it in chronological order, it totally sucks.  That may have just been a dream I had, though.

Well - recutting the movie that way would /definitely/ alter his vision lol.

Interesting Tarantino story:

My friend (more of an acquaintance) goes to TJ to go crazy (not my thing) and he enters this shady lookin' strip club. Inside is Tarantino chillin' with some....well...prostitutes. They talk and have a good time, and that's that.

I've really enjoyed Tarantino's work up till now, but I think his perceived "greatness" will have to be judged for future generations.  His films seem to be so much a product of today that it's hard to see if they'll hold up in time.

I loved Kill Bill. I don't think it was overrated in any way.

I'm not trying to "cyber-fellate" Mr. Tarantino. I'm just saying what I feel, as I have always done and always will do. Please don't try to tell me what to think and what not to think. Saying that you're a fan of one's movies isn't dick-sucking.

May i ask why you have $240 worth of pudding? And what kind of pudding to be exact?

The $240 dollars worth of pudding is an obscure reference to the MTV show "The State" which featured several of the people from Reno 911, Wet Hot American Summer, etc.  It's from a skit about two guys named Barry and Levon, who are these two 70's swinger types who like to sit on things.  One time they sat on $240 dollars worth of pudding.  And they both do a kind of Barry White-esque "Awww yeah" a lot.

Youtube "Barry and Levon" and I'm sure you'll find it.  Heh.
