I'd be more than happy to help out with distro of said dvd. The dvd I have of it is commercial free but very clean looking, so a version with included commercials sounds ideal.

It supports MPEG4, (I've got that access key) but not the 'mp4' .. Says 'The video file could not be opened'. I'm looking into some other access keys to see if there is an option for MP4 files
They seem to be identical type files with the MP4 more 'Apple' based than Windows, but I think I'm just missing a particular codec or something..

It opens mine.  If I go to file properties in windows it says: "MPEG-4 Movie (.mp4)"

I don't have version 11 though.  I have an earlier version.
Hmm... Still not having any luck yet..
Are you able to open the file in the 'Edit' mode of Pinnacle?
I've got some Pinnacle 11 keys, but not what I need for this.

I can commit to at least 10-20 copies...... more if spend the day drinking!

But not too much drinking or you will get the family photos I am moving to DVD...... and you would tempted to riff on that and I would be sad   :'(

Conor

Keep in mind that the possibility exists for differences to occur.  The opening "fan made" crawl being the most obvious exception.  There are a few glitches in the "Lake Video" version, but nothing that really affects it dramatically.  I just don't want people to work hard to distribute something that might not work perfectly.

I really appreciate your concern about this, Conor. There are number of versions of the Holiday Special circulating (I have at least four, myself) and it's very easy to get them mixed up. I am pretty confident this should work, though, and if there are differences, I think the tweaks necessary will be very minor. And if unsuccessful, at least a whole bunch of people will be able to watch the Star Wars Holiday Special in their home DVD player rather than online at their own leisure, right? Oh, right, like anyone actually wants to do that except me, cuz I think Harvey Corman is really funny in it...

Conor

Sounds good.  As long as there are commercials for The Wiz, TOBOR and a whopping two panytyhose ads, you should be good to go.

AmandaGal

If the fan crawl is that important, it should be easy to add.  You'd have to mess with the syncing a bit though.
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

It'll have to be trader beware I guess. We can circulate new instructions when the riff comes out.

Every time I think there's no place left for Rifftrax to go that will surprise me... Well, here we are!

Did they forget the subtitles on this Wookiee stuff? (I'm guessing not.)
I mean, we're treated to 10 minutes straight of pure Wookiee-language nonsense before being introduced to sunburnt Luke!
I can't wait to see what the guys do with this.

Am I not getting some technicality? My firefox has a addon that lets me download flv files. I then use the program "Super" to convert to avi. Pretty simple in my opinion.

I tried to watch this once and only made it a few minutes in. After about 10 minutes or so, I got the "joke" of it being horrible and decided I didn't have to watch the other hour and 50 minutes to understand it. The quality of the one that I watched was "okay", not great, but you don't expect 1080p HD from a 1978 bootleg VHS copy. I'm glad thier riffing this one. People shouldn't worry, this has to be one of the most widely available bootlegs ever. Hey at least this time we don't have to spend $5 to rent "Glitter".

O-MY-GOD!!! I just tried to watch this again. I couldn't do it. It's so horrible. :gouge: This had better be one funny Rifftrax.

wondersquare

i'd like to get a copy of the correct one myself.
i'll help out and send to others once i've ordered some dvds.
i have 1 version myself but its probably not the right one.

i cant believe i'm going to watch this again.   i felt physical pain from watching it the last time.
