The deals thread

Hey, Studio Ghibli fans! Amazon has them all marked down up to 55% today! (Which brings them down to about the price of a normal DVD/Blu-ray, but still!)

But not including Totoro, the one we most need to upgrade.

Just noticed that Brisco County Junior is only $24.59 on Amazon
.

[The Lurker]

I don't think I've ever seen that one.

[k1]

It's a steal for that price.

Was just at Amazon and saw they had a bunch of Criterion BDs on sale for half price. I guess they are price matching Best Buys sale. (but since BB didn't have On The Waterfront on shelves and I have a prime trial, I ordered it from zon)

I just made an order from B&N a couple of days ago (40% off), but these 50% off blus are too hard to resist. Might have to make another order...

[Relaxing Dragon]

Figures I picked up the Criterion Blus I was after a few weeks ago. Still, guess I'll root around what's on sale, see if there aren't any more that catch my eye (although I think I own every Criterion that I want of movies I've seen).

Almost all of the Criterions I've bought have been blind buys, and I've not had any disappointments yet!

Barnes & Noble (B&M and website) is currently running a 50% off Criterion sale. I think it's good till 7/26.

[iv3rdawG]

Some of those films have also been price matched at Best Buy, which you can then stack with their $5 upgrade and save coupon to bring the price down to $15.

[Relaxing Dragon]

Barnes and Nobles is having their 50% Off sale for all Criterions all November long, including titles being released later in the month (so naturally Nashville doesn't come out until December 3rd). I'm gonna head in and see about finally picking up a copy of High and Low.

[Edward J Grug III]

High and Low is great!

We ordered the upcoming Zatoichi boxset! 25 films for $115ish!

Also:
Postwar Kurosawa Eclipse set (DVD)
I Married a Witch
To Be or Not to Be
Autumn Sonata

Yes, it's a 7-10 year old version and "Adobe recommends you not use it" because apparently the Earth will implode or something, but hey. Free.
