I do not care if i don't recognize it, in fact it would be fun to learn some characters i dont know.  but someone else has to know the character or the game ends.

Is it important that the mods recognize who the comic character is, or only that the other players know who it is? 'cause with this crowd, we can think of some obscure characters.
I would think that, as they are the people running the game, the mods would be the important ones.

Edit: Yes, I turned off my "X people have posted in the meantime" feature.  Please see the above.
I thought I was Dale.

And no only using characters from the simpsons and south park!  Let's see some awesome comic strip characters!  Anyone who uses this guy will be looked favorably upon:

How about if they reference Giant Nads in some way?

Any and all references to Permanent Tanooki will vault the poster into favored status.

Should we make the rule comic strips only?  Or allow cartoons?  I am worried if we allow cartoons it will turn into a simpsons-fest

Sticking with just Comic Strips is fine with me. Though it would be fun to ask a question with Cartman

For comic strips only you're going to have a lot of people who don't know the character asking the question, or if what they say fits their personality.

Depends on how you want the game to turn out.  If you allow cartoons, I suspect it will turn into a cartoon-fest.  That's not necessarily a bad thing, but the comic strip characters will probably get left out in the cold.

You could make a one character per show or strip rule.

This seems like a suitable compromise.

Fine, one per show.  Comic Strips are strongly encouraged.

Could I recommend finding a way to use this comic from an awesome fellow forum member-

I think the easiest way is gonna be similar to the Mel Brooks game, use a fairly common quote that most people will get as part of the question.  Hope Conor is planning on a little more patience than last time.  This could take a while.
