QuoteI'm starting to wonder what Frank's been up to all these years.

After Frank left mst3k he moved to LA and did some writing and tv specials, then got a job as a staff writer on Sabrina the Teenage Witch for 4 seasons, then did Invader ZIM, then some consulting for the Drew Carey Show, then some O2Be, then some Tom Green, and of course some Dark Star, and he has recently been doing Cartoon Dump, http://cartoonbrewfilms.com/?s=cartoon+dump&key=director&x=0&y=0, and now CT.

This concludes the abbreviated biography of Frank Connriff: Post MST3K

He's done some stand up, and a quite a few appearances on The Radio Adventures of Dr Floyd, in fact he's played the most characters of any of the guests.

Look, I don't know nothing from nothing, but it kinda feels that the silence between each camp regarding the other is awkward, to say the least. My consporacy theory du jour: With the exception of Mary Jo, it seems like everyone who left the show before it crossed over to Sci fi went on record as saying they're done with the riffing and the robots and the watching of the movies for the money. So, when Mike started up Rifftrax, he didn't ask those people to join him as a guest or a regular, honoring their decision to be done with riffing. Now, those people who haven't been a part of Mike's reindeer games feel slighted, even though they gave up on riffing themselves.

On top of this, mayhbe, just maybe, Joel feels slighted by Mike for even having a business that involves riffing. Because were it not for Joel inventing MST3K, who knows if Mike would even have this opportunity? One could argue over whether or not RT is a spinoff of MST3K and as such Joel deserves credit (if not an actual credit as a co-creator), but if this were a feeling Joel had, it might also explain why there's awkward silence between the two camps.

Anyone else notice this.

From the Rifftrax FAQ
QuoteQ: Now that Neil Patrick Harris and Fred Willard have appeared as Guest Riffers, are other celebrity guests on the way?
You bet! We can't tell you who, because it's top secret. But more celebrity Guest Riffers are in the works as we speak. Stay tuned.

Yesterday when I looked at that same FAQ it was followed by the question.

Q:  Joel?
     See above.

Today that question is gone.

meh, Joel was just WAY ahead of the curve ... DVD commentary was inevitable, talking to movies is mainstream at this point ... mst is just that for people that like to laugh. Other TV examples include Blind Date and the Soup.

Typo or Conspiracy Theory ... vote now ;D

Chaos

Or one of the clever mods' idea of a surreptitious yet browbeating hint, which they are known to drop from time to time. :)

Probably one of those things we call a "mistake."

Is ILM producing Cinematic Titanic?

BathTub

Unlikely I think the only connection is Joel's connection to The Flecks.

I was cleaning up the FAQ and whatever question that was posted as a "follow up" to had been changed, moved or deleted, so it no longer made sense and I got rid of it.

However things shake out, I'd like to see both parties put in a cameo appearance on one another's respective enterprises.

Ditto.

From I'm seeing, it sounds like alot of fans are holding out hope that the two (Joel and Mike) will be able to at least acknowledge each others projects for what they are and continue to work together in some manner.

At the same time.. all of this is beginning to sound like a giant lame "Dude! We should totally get the band back together! Rock out like the old times.." kinda discussion.

What?  I get confused sometimes and need to check on a thing or two every 24 hours.   :D

Actually I was looking at the FAQ to copy and paste the "guest riffer" question AND the "Joel" question as a potential sign that cross-riffing was possible, then from there noticed the second question's absence.

Quote from: BathTubWhere are people getting Zardoz as the CT film from?

I don't think that anyone believes that Zardoz will actually be the first Cinematic Titanic release.

"It's a studio version of the live show packed with cool bonus features, so save your juice money."

Seems like it will be to me?
FINE

BathTub

Zardoz was the film that The Flecks were showing last month when Joel swung by to collect his award for 20 years of riffing. The Cinematic Titanic performance isn't until next month.
