I think we both agree that Rhino won't be distributing them anytime soon...  ;)

I keep forgetting they still exist

And yes, if Mallon did put the death nail in BOTH the Film Crew and MST3K 2.0, then my hatred for him has grown.

Wait, how did Mallon stop the film crew? It had nothing to do with MST3k, right?

Film Crew was originally made for Rhino.  Apparently (I just have second hand info on this) Mallon stepped in and said it was too much like MST3K, and that Rhino couldn't release both.  Since MST3K is a good seller for Rhino they didn't have much of a choice and pulled the plug.  That's why a couple years past between TFC being shot and it being released by another company.

I'm still waiting for the Darkstar (http://www.darkstar.gs/) game to be released. But I am glad to see Joel out and about with some of the group again.

However, with the start of Rifftrax, Filmcrew, Cinematic Titanic, MST3K.com, all of that just gives me unwarranted hope of seeing a new Mystery Science movie or episode one day. I can dream, can't I?

Just watched the trailer and now I'm excited again.  Forgot how much I enjoyed having  silhouettes.  Not the same as before but pretty funny non the less.

QuoteThat's exactly what happened Frank mentioned at the most recent Cartoon Dump that Joel wanted to restart MST3K but Jim wouldn't let him.
Er... well I'm kind of glad, actually. Bringing out the old bots and having Joel and Trace and, of all people, Elvis back in the ring again would just be way too Twilight Zone, especially with the age difference and continuity issues. That would be too weird for me. I've had MST comeback dreams less bizarre.

It's just, the old cast seems just that. Old. They feel too unhip for me now. Kevin watched a movie every day for a year and wrote a book about it. Mike's written a couple of movie inspired books, and did that LOTR parody. I don't know what Joel has done for a single day of his life since he left, let alone a year. And we always heard about their other projects but most were obscure at best. I feel the guys are out of touch with popular culture, but I also feel out of touch with them. Who ARE these people in 2007/2008?

The Legend Films DVDs were fine from what I've seen, but still a step backwards from MST. Rifftrax is a step forward... for all humanity. CT feels like a step backwards. And slightly sideways.

Have you watched the trailer yet?

they seem in touch with pop culture to me, it's not like they've been living in a cave for the last 10 years or anything

Yeah, I downloaded it, and printed out every frame on a t-shirt. And then I married it.

Scaffolding is SO last year.

You don't know what you're talking about.  Do some research.

*scratches head* That entry says nothing about scaffolding. Oh, I must have been thinking of Joel Rodgson of CineMAGIC Titanic. Yes, so sorry.

Really, what was I supposed to not know? Cos I knew all of that. Do you work for Confuse-a-Cat?

Do I have to come to your house, take your hand, and force you to click on links and read.  Why do you insist on negatively speculating about future events.  Yes you have the right to your opinion, but the first movie isn't even out yet.  Can you save you bile until after?

Would I have to pay for that?

No downloadable service? That makes me sad...looks like I'll just have to wait a couple of weeks for it to get here.

I thought I remember reading somewhere that it'd be priced at $10.
