Unless the physical DVDs were of a noticeable higher quality that what I'd be downloading and burning, then I'll probably be downloading each time actually.  No shipping costs and/or searching through stores, I'd be able to get it as soon as it's available (barring internet screw-ups) and as the recent CT update said "Burning, labeling, and packaging disks at home is something, as Trace says, "Fits our do-it-yourself-aesthetic beautifully". "

Rifftrax has already pulled me into doing things like this to the point where I kind of associate burning DVDs with riffing, and I actually love looking through the alternate DVD labels and covers other people make with the option of making my own.  That's just my take though.

Not sure if anybody has mentioned this yet, but soon the Xbox 360 is going to support divx files so you could conceivably watch the CT riff file through your 360 and thus, on your tv without burning it to disc.  Or you could always convert the file to a format that microsoft does allow now, like .mp4 or .wmv etc...

I personally would rather have an actual DVD as well, but mostly because none of the computers in my house has a DVD burner.

$30 can easily fix that......

I'd be curious to know what everyone over at CT thinks about the whole piracy thing, considering they are working with members of the DAP. Certainly, DAP's original intentions were pure, and encouraged during the time when it was taped TV shows or nothing, but now that Rhino has many of the episodes available, the existence of DAP (for those episodes at least) becomes more questionable.

Please note, I am not trying to insinuate anything, nor am I trying to insult any of the people over at DAP... I'm just genuinely curious if those types of conversations have come up and what the overall thought process is about piracy etc over at CT.

As already mentioned, the DAP doesn't offer any  of the episodes that are available on DVD. What's more, most DAP people happily pay for the DVDs. At CT, we realize piracy is always going to occur. It happens with everything. As long as we hit sales numbers we're happy with (some of us have, like, no money right now. So some money for the hard work would rule) it's all well and good.

One question--- is there a standard website or is it just that little blog thing?

Right now, that's what it is. The site should fully launch on the 10th, when the first episode will be available. It will feature a lot more, including blogs from the other 4 big people involved and some other cool stuff.

I'm all in favor of the dvd format. I can't have with intangable products, and I don't cotton to all that messing around with DVD burners and new-fangled technology.

It's possible, but probably not.

If not, don't worry, we can always pick up the slack here.

Between MST3K dvds, Film Crew DVDS, Legand Film DVDs and Rifftrax DVD, my shelves are getting quite full.   Now with CT DVDs coming, all I can say is, thank goodness for thinpaks.

Just think back to 2006.    We had nothing to look forward to but the next Rhino set.   Now we have all this.

:highfive:
