Well, see, that's my point... people who feel the need to shove it in your face are usually covering up, so all the phallic symbolism usually means the exact opposite. I would have thought that Joel would be smart enough to realize that and try to avoid it, rather than dump it in every single image. :P

It could just be phallic for the sake of being phallic

Which I guess is kind of funny........Checking........... Yes it is funny.
Every day of my life I find the wisest and best to fix our attention on the Good and the Beautiful. If you just take the time to look at it.

Riffageddon has begun leaving a trail of riffed & slaughtered bad movies in it's wake. All bad movies repent because the hour is at hand. That's right,  I'm looking at you, House of the Dead.

MrTorso

I hope they are releasing DVDs themselves. That way they can crank them out.

Well they said they've licensed their first title. They wouldn't need to license it unless they were going to release it...

Bingo  :D

I'm so excited, I just can't hide it... I'm about to lose control and I think I like it!

What is up with all of the CT images being so phallic? Is there a message there? ;)

Finally! The riffs of Debbie Does Dallas and Deepthroat that we've all been pulling for... as it were :D

So I've been punched in the gut twice in the last 12 hours - once with the MST3K lite, and again with Cinematic Titanic.

As one of the older MSTies here, I feel like I'm being subjected to a practical joke.  A delicious, tantalizing, practical joke.

Hey, if the new projects work out will we see a new project headed by Beez, Patrick Brantseg, and Julie Walker?

This is exciting news i must say! I like a lot of you like Mike and Joel both, they each have different styles of riffing and they both make me laugh a bundle. It'll be nice if both projects remain successful and keep cranking out the new riffs. Even better if they starting working with each other! HUZZAH!

Looks like Mike proved there's still good money to be had from the MST3K fan base, and now the rest of the former cast is jumping on the bandwagon.  And since these are highly talented people capable of generating genuinely funny material, I'm very glad they decided to jump.

I agree but I think more that Mike had the balls to do it and now they're all jumping on board.  I do hope they intertwine somehow down the road.  The cartoon thing looks like it only had a decent online store to look forward to.

I signed up for Joels thing.

I love Rifftrax, but I also have room for both. I also remember that if it wasn't for Joel, no one would be riffing movies to begin with. At least not in the sense we're used to.

BEERxTaco

I agree, I think Mike took a HUGE leap of faith when he started the whole Rifftrax thing... and hopefully it's paid off for him. I know there are a lot of us who owe him a huge thank you for getting the riff ball rolling again.

Thanks Mike ! You've changed the world (again)!

There is definitely room for both in my book.  Both. As in two. Sorry, I just don't have much interest in the Mallon thing unless he starts selling rarities...

Glad to see that what we've been say all along was right... MST deserves to live (in it's various forms)

It only took Mr. Nelson to go out on a limb and prove our point.

Best of luck to all the projects...

I must confess I have mixed emotions about this as well.  I hope this isn't what it is, but it seems like Joel sees what success Mike has had based on the success of MST3K and is trying to ride on the coattails of it without actually being a part of what Mike does.  I mean, I always thought one of the reasons Joel left MST was because he felt he'd accomplished everything he set out to accomplish with that sort of thing, and he knew it could have a life beyond him and without him.  I guess I'm hoping it's more like Sean Connery coming back to play James Bond in the video game of From Russia With Love than Sean Connery coming back to play James Bond in Diamonds Are Forever.  With the former, you could tell from the interviews and also from his performance that he was doing this purely out of love and respect for the character and genuine enthusiasm for the project.  With the latter, you could tell from his performance that this was just a way that he knew he could make money.

It's all so overwhelming. It's like for Halloween, MST3K was hacked into zombie chunks, but now those chunks are all individually rising from the dead to form things that aren't quite MST3K, and my inner fan doesn't know whether to break out the shotgun and start mowing them down, or try my best to make do with the resurrected chunks of my beloved entertainment.

I know the feeling. It's like you had a friend who died almost a decade ago, but now you've been hanging out with one guy who got his heart implanted, another with his lung and another buddy who received his liver.

And now to top it all off, the remains of your dead friend has risen from the graveyard and has been hanging around your apartment like that guy from American Werewolf In London. He looks and sounds the same, so you don't really mind - so long as he makes you laugh.

Or, you know, something.
