Pretty good, I thought.  I loved the cracks about the filth and the rain.  "This is probably the most moist film, ever!"  I hadn't seen the film in ages and I actually got a little distracted by the fight scenes, but that's my fault.  The back and forths between Mike and Kevin were priceless however.  They've got a real chemistry that elevates the rifftrax.  I give it a B.

Msampo

HILARIOUS.

Favorite riffs:
Quickly! Into Gap commercial mode!
I think he should invest in a Swiffer.
I'm training to be veal.
Refinancing is HELL!
"Tell Hugo...I...loved...him..."
Guess he lost big on super sloppy double dare.
"The pillow smells like cottage cheese."
He's Hudsuckering!
If you wanna blend in, dress like The Fixx, circa 1986
Never bothered George Michael! HEY!
"Now there's a certain hobbit whose ass I have to kick."
...and it was a dog.
"Oh hold on, I forgot something in the car."
"Deb called again."
"But what if I told you there was another Gospel, one brought by the...damn it."
"I'm a LITTLE TEAPOT!!"
"...walkin' down the street..."

Other comments:
"Office Space" references!
Slam on Julia Child outta nowhere!
"Drunken boxing"?
"What's Up Tiger Lily?" reference
Lonelygirl15 reference
"Hong Kong Fooey" reference
"It takes deliveries in the rear!"--maybe the dirtiest riff ever

I agree with Mr. Basehart, pretty much.  Very good B+, but Kevin and Mike really are getting into a groove that is really starting to kick it out! (is that mixing metaphores, oh well you get me).

Yeah these guys just rock together!  I really hope Kevin sticks around full time.

I think I laughed the hardest at the whole scene with Neo and Morpheus kung-fu fighting for the first time, jeeze every second of it was riffed hard.  I was laughing with every punch and kick I think.

I thought this one would be really hard to riff, because it really is kind of a good movie, but I think because it takes itself SOOOOO seriously that it just walks into being made fun of.  It's like lighten up, everybody!  Jeeze.

Yeah good stuff, I liked Halloween better, but this was great.

It was awesome. My new favorite. Sorry Star Trek V. They matched up the lines in this one so well with the people's expressions. ("You see, Crunchberries for instance...").
Out of the ones I have, I put them in this order:

The Matrix
Star Trek V
Point Break
X-Men

I am sure that Phantom Menace is gonna top the list though when it comes out.

I gotta go. "Super Gothgirl" is flying through my window. Those darn leather-clad kids nowadays.

Wow - Another great one!  I can't even rate them anymore.

I'm in Riff Heaven, and feel like singing.

I always thought that the best MSTied films were the ones that took themselves seriously. Thats why I think Phantom Menace will be the best yet!

Hi Everyone!

This is my first post.  I thought this was a really great rifftrax, and my favorite riff was definitely the "Mary Kate and Ashley return to Headquarters" line.  I'm still laughing to myself the next day!

Man it's great to see these guys back in action.  I've been a fan of "that other show" since its early days.

In a way I think a movie has to take itself seriously to be good, but movies that take themselves seriously and still suck are the best to make fun of.  (Like Phantom Menace!!)

As I've said elsewhere, I do like the Matrix--I'm just geeky enough to be an actual fan of it--so I was feeling skeptical and suspicious going to this riffing, but it was STUPENDOUS!!  It's maybe my favorite yet. I hope the riffers don't get tired of hearing this, but having Kevin there really enhances the funniness, and the best scenario would be to have all three!  :)

I can't even remember all the hilarious riffs yet--the Mormon agents were priceless.  The agent's suit with "just a touch of lycra."  The Morpheus recitation of Monkees lyrics...It was all so good!  When Neo said "Pain don't hurt" I just about fell off the couch. The only part I didn't like was in the final fight scene where they said it was "fiercely stupid."  Heeeey, that means people who like it are fiercely stupid!  :-[   (I always think Mike is a little hard on overweight and/or bald people too--kinda mean to some people in the audience, isn't it?)

What were those rhyme thingies they were doing when Morpheus and Neo were fighting in training program?  I didn't even fully get that, but man it was funny!

Well, I've had this discussion many times on various forums and it always get ugly, but i never learn my lesson...

The Matrix is an important, ground breaking movie.  Despite what a lot of people who don't read much think, it wasn't all that original, but it's execution was just amazing.  It's themes are overdone but important, and it's (IN MY OPINION), the only good direction the Wachy Bros. ever accomplished, (I think after the sex change Larry, or which ever one had it done, lost his ability to direct along with his penis).  I mean, it's a very well directed piece.

But despite the overarching brilliance there those blaring plot points that just kill it to death.  And, I don't take the rest of the movies into account because they were really back peddaling and filling in like Lucas on his worse day with those, but it would have been soooo easy to fix the whole thing.  With two simple changes, the whole story would have fallen together so much better.

A) When fighting a war against the machines, ala Terminator, you don't scorch the sky.  That's like getting mugged and cutting your own throat hoping the blood spray will drown him.  Even if you win, what do you have left?  A dead Earth.

B) The machines have much better power sources on this planet than human bodies.  Cows, whales, electric eels, any of these provide ten or twelve times the amount of bio-electric power and you don't have to provide a little virtual playland for them to convince them to cooperate.  They could still enslave the humans as they did in the movie, making a Matrix for them, but just to keep them out of the way while they rebuilt and dominated an undestroyed Earth.  You know what I'm saying.  The movie stays in tact, but the plot line is tighter.

With those changes, Morpheus, et al, would have actually had something to fight for, (a real, living planet instead of an underground Rave Party City).  The movie works real well as religious, or spiritual metaphor, sure, but as a sci-fi STORY, not so much.

But kick-ass action scenes, and CGI that still holds up to this day, quite impressive.

Randy I am starting to think maybe you dont have a sense of humour.... ;)

Seriously though this Rifftrax gets a A+ from me. I may move it to my top three
1. Roadhouse
2. X-men (Cerebro, Magneto!)
3. The Matrix

There were so many great riff's in this one and I love Kevin he just brings so much energy and is hilarious. Great job Mike and Kevin.
