There must be close to 270 shorts now, I've got over 260 and haven't gotten around to buying the last few releases.
28 Volumes at 8 shorts each
+ Batman Serials (15)
+ Balloonland
= 240

What am I missing ???

I just had the post after MartyS's with the listing of the 243 in it to compare if you want.
I think there's a Bonus Shorts disc Bob made from the first Kickstarter a couple years back I believe :o

Oh, and 4 recent shorts for the future Vol. 29 disc 8)

MartyS (Gromit)

I had some duplicates in my folder (HD and SD), and ballonland, so I've got 244 shorts bought, and at least 2 I haven't.  They used to split the longer shorts, so for unique titles 243 might be the correct number.

Ok cause I've purchased every single short available so that seems about right

I have the four 2-parters as the separate releases they were [s055 What It Means To Be An American - Part 1, s056 The Case of Tommy Tucker - Part 1, s057 What It Means To Be An American - Part 2, s058 The Case of Tommy Tucker - Part 2].  But I've checked my list against the catalog a couple times when updating (re-checked everything from the first Batman-on tonight), and still only end up with 243.

Could you possibly have duplicate copies with different names?  [e.g. "Such-and-Such" and "The Such-and-Such"]  Either that, or somehow in repeated scouring the listings I missed two of them (because the catalog itself only even says 245 shorts).  [That is not unheard of, I just would hope I've not been in such bad shape that I repeatedly missed the same two shorts.]

Were all of the kickstarter shorts released for sale?  I thought there might be one or 2 that were not.
And those few specials they did that were short, "90s internet movies" etc, are you including those?

I don't think I ever got those, and I didn't included them in my calculations :-\

The very first short "Signal 30" the 3 minute demo is no longer available..
Was that included on the list ??? Cause I still count 244 :o

Looking at the catalog they don't list those specials in with the shorts, and I seem to have missed the puppets one that came out a while back.  So there are 4 I haven't bought, so I must have 1 extra duplicate somewhere I'm not seeing in my folder.  And I'm not going to try and find it, my ears are still in pain from all the screaming kids at the observatory earlier this evening, so I'm going to have a drink and watch some more MASH episodes on Netflix (I'm getting close to having rewatched that entire series, has to be the only one to have that many episodes and not any bad ones)

And no, I wasn't including the signal 30 demo.

Later...

Oh, they do list that Nestor Christmas show as a short, are you including that in your list?

LucasM

Hmm... back some time ago (at least two years, probably closer to three or four, I forget what it was for, I think a List of Crap) I think it was Conor posted in that thread the official listing of RiffTrax to that point.  At the time it came out I had everything with matching numbers (and was pleased I didn't have to rename a bunch of MP3s and JPGs to fix the sequence).  At that time Nestor was in with the 'features' rather than the shorts.  That was likely because it was not available as a VOD (apparently it is now available as a VOD).

So if they changed its category from being a 'regular' RiffTrax to a 'short', then the newest three features will only bring the total of those to 199, and it will bring the total shorts up to 244.  But at this point no way in hell am I renumbering all the ones I have to match Nestor's transition.

For further checks by anyone (if anyone cares) here's the listings of each I had posted earlier:

...total number of RiffTrax (not counting the RiffTrax Presents)....

EDIT:  Full numbered listing inside spoiler (for size).

Nestor and SF Sketchfest 2015 make 245 VODs, so those are the 2 extras on the catalog webpage...

I was numbering my files, but when it got to be around 200 I started to want to list alphabetically to find certain ones easier so took out all the numbers...

Interesting... I find it easier to find them based on 'relative age' (possibly because I don't always remember the titles).

And you're right, the Sketchfest shorts are what make up the difference.  So I was only a 'Nestor' off (in both lists), apparently.

I remain confused about Americans issues with Temple of Doom

Miku Fan

I'm pretty sure that movie made a gazillion and five dollars in the U.S.A.
It was well liked, and the only issue people had was, "How fast can i get to this movie and hand Harrison Ford my money?"

Just the need for any series to have a "worst one" to complain about I guess. Thus I've noticed complaints about Temple of Doom fall off drastically after Crystal Skull came out the same way complaints about Return of the Jedi fell off after the prequels started.

Personally, Temple of Doom is the first Indy I can remember watching as a kid and so its the reason I like the character.

I know some people have an aversion to Willie and Short Round. If you can get over the sidekicks, though, it's a fantastic movie. I can't think of a better action set piece in the whole series than the mine cart chase.
