I was thinking about cell phone signals today for some reason. That, and hackers. I mean... people on the internet have cracked just about everything you can think of... including cell phones themselves. With all of the illegal stuff that people get up to with technology, why hasn't someone come up with a cell phone signal decoder, so they can pull down a 3G or Edge signal without having service? You'd think somebody would have figured out a way to do this by now.

Yes, that's right. I regularly have complex and detail-oriented random thoughts about techno-piracy, sometimes with little proto-ideas for a potential solution. What's it to you?

Random thoughts from today:

1) Why do they keep playing Saw 4 previews every two minutes on every channel I'm watching? Even TLC?
2) Wow. Hellraiser 2 was sure disapointing and confusing. Maybe I should watch Hellraiser one of these days and get the back story.
3) I should probably set up my art portfolio on a site other than Geocities. Damn my ignorance of HTML.
4) Ribs are hard to eat.

I plan to convert a future house of mine to run off of energy efficient solar systems and other green hippie shit, not because it's better for the environment but because at this moment I assume it's cheaper. To balance my carbon output, I plan to convert my vehicles to run off coal.

wich is why I find it ridiculous that people here insist on calling black people African Americans like it is more correct.

You know, I have never ACTUALLY heard anyone refer to a black person who was born or lives in Canada as an "African Canadian." We usually just say black here, too - nobody seems to be getting their panties in a twist about it, either. In Nova Scotia, there is actually a program called the "Black Business Initiative" to help increase awareness of diversity in business, or some shit. Strangely, I have actually heard a couple of black Canadians refer to themselves as African Americans as well. When I asked one of them where in the states he was from (hoping to start up a conversation about home), he looked at me like I was retarded, and said, "I was born in Toronto." People are weird.

Random thought of the moment: say whatever you want about Nigeria. That accent is fucking SEXY.

Remember that crazy dude that wanted to send a letter bomb to Bjork? His stated reason was because "she is in a relationship with an African American" .

Except the bloke she was going out with was former dental student and dance music behemoth Goldie who hails (in a roundabout way)from Wolverhampton just up the road from my home town Stratford-upon-Avon.

Kind of reminds me of the stand up talking about an American on the shores of Senegal and muttering "look at all the minorities!"

   I recall, during the whole French hating thing a few years ago, my Mother stating that someone tried to call her a "Franco American" because of her ethnicity of being part French Huguenot. She said she jumped down their throat, not because of the PC label in of itself (though she also thought that was stupid as hell), but because it made her sound like a can of spaghetti sauce.

  Is it wrong to wish that people, if they're actually born in America, would just call themselves Americans? Because if we're labeling ourselves according to our various ethnicities, then those of us from more than five different ethnic sources are doomed.

Well I like to switch between my ethnicities. If I'm feeling full of joi-de-vive I emphasise the Irish but if I want to feel mysterious I like to side with the Romany. And then of course I open my mouth and people assume I'm minor aristocracy from the Home Counties.

My missus is Polish and Jewish so our kids with have 4 greatly artistic though paradoxically despised bloods running through their veins.
