I've actually learned a lot about myself from this forum RPG...not really. I just know that I like being the hero in fake stuff...even if I never save anybody

You know what's funny?  I don't like playing the hero in the fake stuff, but I'm probably one of the few people in that thread who hasn't submitted to the unnamed menace yet.

And I feel like such a dork typing that out just now.

Edit: Page 75!  WHOOOOOO!!!

What is going on with the EXPLOSION IN CALIFORNIA thread?    I don't understand  :(

Neither do I, honestly.  It just looked like fun.

I know!  I wanted to join in but I was worried that it would be obvious that I had no idea what was going on.

Ehh, jump in, anyway.  I had no idea what I was doing, either, and nobody's yelled at me yet.

So, the "joke" of The Film Crew is that they're adding commentary to DVDs.....and they always watch the movie on VHS..... ???

Was drinking Knappogue Castle Single Malt Irish Whiskey playing an online multiplayer shooter on my PC then my memory gets fuzzy and next thing I know I'm waking up underneath my desk.

those fuckin prudes need to pull the stick out of their collective asses.  This holier than thou bullshit pisses me off.

How can you be pissed off by it? The site is pure comedy. Check out the guy's review of the South Park movie.
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

I find it as scary as I do funny to be honest.

Eh. Maybe in a "portrait of a disturbed mind" kind of way. What I find hilarious is that this guy feels the need to obfuscate his opinions of movies with all this "CAP Alert scale" jazz.

It's sort of the other side of the "anyone who liked (insert horror movie here) is a psychopath" suggestion people throw around, to me people who are SO effected or afraid or things in art/entertainment/pretend are MUCH more frightening than someone who can separate that from reality.

Read the last few paragraph's of the PROM NIGHT 'review' for example, the bile targeted at characters who have sex or wear skimpy outfits is just staggering.

So, I found out about this Transformers character called Grimlock, who can turn from a robot into a robot dinosaur. He and the other Dino-bots were apparently just smart enough to communicate.
At one point, however, Grimlock got something that turned him into a super genius, and temporary leader of the Autobots if I'm correct.
Then, later, for some reason, he used the thing that made him smart to help... someone, I dunno, and lost it, going back to his old, dumb self.

That may be a cute enough plot for a kid, but I couldn't help but see this when I read about that:

Tyrant

Aw, don't worry about Grimlock, Junkyard. He's always been smart according to Simon Furman.

Pak-Man

The episode was called "Grimlock's New Brain." He used his intelligence to make the Technobots (Who in turn merge to form Computron). Enjoy this nice summary from the IMDB:

QuoteWhile fighting the Decepticons, Grimlock bites some controls. The feedback boosts Grimlock's intelligence. When many of the Autobots are captured. Grimlock builds the Technobots, and makes a sacrifice so that his new creations will be better suited to fight the Terrorcons.

And this from the quotes page for that episode:

QuoteComputron: I am Computron. My computation capacity is nearly infinite, but I lack the intelligence to feed my capacity.
Grimlock: Kneel Computron.
[Computron kneels before Grimlock]
Grimlock: You will now receive my intelligence.
Computron: But Grimlock -
Grimlock: SUPERINTELLIGENCE IS THE ONLY WAY TO COUNTERACT AMBOMINUS'S BRUTE FORCE! It's the only way.
[after Grimlock has transferred his intelligence into Computron]
Grimlock: . Me Grimlock say you smart now. Me no can help you any more.

I don't know WHY people don't see it was the most brilliant show on TV. :^)

Junkyard

Huh. It sounds more dramatic than I would have expected from GI Transformers.

Junkyard

Oh, and Tyrant's observation made me look up Simon Furman.
Marvel UK... sigh.
To all you English board members, I'm sorry, but just who the hell let the Brits make comics? I once got a box full of Marvel UK comics for a dollar, and soon realized I got fooled out of at least 6 dollars. (I should have been paid 5.)
Apparently in the Marvel UK TF series, Arcee was made by the Autobots in response to angry human femenists (In the comic!) demanding a female Autobot.
I just... don't know how to even react to that.

Tripe

Well much of the Marvel UK stuff was crappy.

But there are some good British Comics out there 2000 AD has produced some good stuff.
