Bairman, bad news.   :(   I'm getting an error in BeLight...

Error 74: Bad configuration for AC3enc. Couldn't initialize.

Also, I noticed that you say to change the imput source filename from the wav file to the mux file, but when I check, it already reads like it should and I don't need to change anything.  I am doing this right?

I don't think you're reading carefully enough.  The guide was written for Aften, not AC3enc.

I'm getting that error in BeLight, though.  I wanted to ask you about Aften because the way your guide is set up, you say to download it and then you mention it in the sixth section but you never say when to open and use it.  Should I be doing the mux file and conversion in aften instead of BeLight?  I'm sorry for the confusion, but I'm following your guide to the letter....

Nevermind, I just discovered a program called EncWavtoAC3 and it is working perfectly.   Thanks for all your help!

Ok Bairman, one more question and then I'll never darken your door again!
You said that you downmix the 6ch ac3 into a 2ch. wav in addition to splitting it into the 6 mono wavs.  What do you do with the one you downmix?  Do you put it in the center channel when you create the mux?  I authored a disc with the six channel method and it seems like the movie audio is way lower than it should be.
I'm a fedora wearing idiot!  I'm sorry......

They are completely separate.  The downmixed two channel WAV has nothing to do with the MUX file.  Remember, the goal of the guide is to end up with TWO audio tracks... one surround compatible 2.0 track (an AC3 encoded from the downmixed WAV) and one surround sound 5.1 track (an AC3 encoded from the six mono WAVs).

If the movie audio sounds too low, maybe you're not lowering the volume of the RiffTrax enough when you apply the voice-over plug-in.  Reauthoring is not an exact science.  There is no magic formula that will work for every movie and mixing 5.1 audio only complicates things further.  You have to play around with the various program settings and test and retest (sometimes several times) until things sound right to you.

This looks like a great guide. However, it makes reference to another guide that is no longer around. I remember that guide and it WAS brilliant when I was attempting to put together Transformers, but then I was having audio/video sync issues and then I got distracted so I never got it done. Anyhow, I'm finding time to work on it again and the guide is gone! I knew I should saved a copy of it but never did. Just goes to show, even if you think someone has a good guide, you should just add all the steps in your own because you never know when the other source may disappear!

Well, I found another guide I saved that doesn't turn the process into a DVD but into an .avi and so far I've done 3 rifftrax and its worked flawlessly with each one! I would love to credit who did it as I'm sure it was someone from here but there is no credits in the file and I can't seem to locate it here. All I know is its a .pdf file and it used ID4 as the example.
