Okay, i wanna remake Red Dawn, that uber right-wing anti-commie film where a high school jocks, nerds & hotties joins together to fight communist Russians & Cubans in a very left-wing guerilla way.

So as the film starts to get it's relevance back (with Russia being screwed under Putin, and Hugo Chavez's Venezuela being more socialist than China or Britain), i really want to see a remake of Red Dawn.

Here's who should i cast:
Male:
Shia LaBeouf....Jed Eckert
Daniel Radcliffe....Robert(Shoot me in the head for that one)
Michael Cera.....Daryl Bates
William Moseley...Matt Eckert(Who do you want me to pick, Drake Bell? Zac Efron?)
Josh Duhamel....Lt. Colonel Andrew Tanner
Steve Buscemi.....Mr.Eckert
Dave Foley....Mason
Danny Trejo...Venezuelan General(Nicaraguan from the original based on Ron O'Neal)
Simon Pegg....Teacher who got killed at the beginning(C'mon, who cares if he's white!)
Scout Taylor Compton....Erica
Sarah Roemer....Toni

So what do you guys think? Good? Bad? Good because with a cast like i could get Michael Bay or Zack Snyder to remake it, or Bad because you think RD is a masterpiece and you'll shoot me in the head for that one? Please, i'm just giving a yes or no opinion.

If you're actually being serious, no one is going to let you because you've never made a film before and no one in Hollywood knows who you are, though I assume that you are joking because no one who is serious about filmmaking would ever work with hacks like Michael Bay and Zack Snyder.
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

Well i'm not being serious actually, You really think i'm going to make a Red Dawn remake? I'm just giving a list of actors who could play characters of Red Dawn if there ever was a remake! Have you ever visited IMDb?

I dislike these fantasy "If this movie were remade, who would you cast?" lists. I think they are a waste of time and people like you could be doing something more useful. You have a long life ahead of you. Don't waste all of your time on the computer doing nothing.

meh

If you're gonna make a commie-fightin movie, I think you should do the Coleman Francis classic, Red Zone Cuba (aka Night Train to Mundo Fine). At least RZC is historical... kind of. It would be odd to make remake of Red Dawn long after the Cold War is over. You absolutely must find a middle-aged, out of shape, mush mouthed, scene chewing actor to play the convict-on-the-lam/Bay-of-Pigs-Invader in the lead. Hmm, Steven Seagal perhaps?

Plus, I think the wordl would be just fine without another Shia LeBeouf movie.
I really do like pie.

Well, i have to admit Red Zone Cuba have beautiful cinematography but the script and editing is very painful. I think for a remake you need atleast 3 Oscar-award winning editors to make the movie better.

And Shia LaBeouf is actually a good actor. Ever seen Disturbia?

1. Shia LaBeouf is too trendy.

2. Killing Simon Pegg in the beginning of the movie is not gonna make you any friends. (I'd hate you for it)

3. You need hot chicks that are recognizable for your female leads.

4. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

1.And so was Patrick Swayze during his Dirty Dancing years.

2.Ever seen a BBC sketch show called Big Train? Simon Pegg was in it and he got killed in alot of sketches.

3.No you don't. Does anyone knew Megan Fox before Transformers? And who was Ellen Page before X-Men 3?

4.Try me.
