Hi all,

Glad to see that the third and final riff of the SW prequels is here at last.  I've enjoyed the previous two riffs, but I have a couple of questions about this one.

1)  When will it be available?  How soon is "coming soon?"

2)  Why the increase to $3.99?  I'm sure that it's worth it, but what prompted the $1.00 jump?

And now, for a helpful answer:

1) The 25th.
2) The boys at Rifftrax decided to increase the prices for future traxs involving 3 people to $3.99. Apparently there's an increased cost involved in getting that many people together.

So can we expect that any future rifftrax involving only Mike will be <$2.99?  That's fair play.

The costs aren't one to one for the for the riffers, there are a lot more people involved in the creation of the rifftrax than Mike, Kevin & Bill.  You are ignoring Conor, torgosPizza, J-Proof, Uncle Rufus, Anubis, Riff Martian, and any others we haven't met yet, and then we start on all non-labour costs of servers, bandwidth, studio time etc. A lot of these things don't change depending on how many people are in the recording booth.  Essentially the hiring 2 extra riffers tips costs over a certain point where it doesn't make sense to keep doing it that way.

They are being upfront about it.

There's no need to be insultingly simplistic over it.

Still a heck of a deal if you ask me.

Howard Johnson is right!!

3.99 is still a sexecellent deal. I just expected the slight increase was to cover inflation costs  ;)

3.99 is just fine. Like I've said before Rifftrax, MST3K, and so far The Film Crew, are at their best when they go after Sci-Fi movies.

I'll chime in with a "me too"... I also think Rifftrax are very good value for money.  In fact, I always thought they were too cheap. The new price is ok: two quid for a bonus commentary with Bill, Kevin and Mike is well worth it.

But I sympathise with Jamey, though, and I had the same thought he had... you can't play the game of saying "oh, three are more expensive than two" and raise the price by an inflation-busting 33% and then say "oh, can't lower the price for only one, the fixed costs are too large".

Once you start setting new pricing by riff features (i.e. 'number of riffers') then you have to expect that customers are going to look for a consistent pricing model.

And 'insultingly simplistic' is a bit ad hom, no? :)

If you guys keep arguing they might take the logically consistent move of making one riffer $2.99, two riffers $3.99, and three riffers $4.99. We get one extra riffer as a free bonus at the moment and I'd like to keep it that way.
