Generic Riff-Off Entry

With so many entries pouring in, we were bound to have some overlap in jokes.  There's not anything wrong with that, of course, some setups just lead themselves to certain types of punch lines.  But after reading through all of the entries, the similar jokes begin to blur together.  In one of these very moments, J-Proof, DisembAudio and I came up with the most
Generic Riff-Off Entry
that we could.  If you boiled down the entries to their most common denominators, it might look a little something like this:

01:10:58   (Bald kid picks up spoon) [Uri Geller is famous for bending spoons]

01:11:31   (?There is no spoon.?) [But Sporks are a comical variation of spoons, so they may exist.  Also a line from Ghostbusters that we didn't realize was so incredibly well known.]

01:11:42   (??It is only yourself.?) [You?re telling me to get bent?]

01:11:53   (Neo bends spoon.) [This effect is obviously done by CGI]

01:12:06   (Neo enters kitchen) [those beads should not provide as much resistance as Keanu is acting like they do]

01:12:16   (?You?re the Oracle?? ?Bingo!?) [Was his Name-o is the refrain of a childrens song repeated ad nauseum during the song]

01:12:24   (?Almost done?) [she is most likely baking pot brownies]

01:13:02   (??.I hadn?t said anything??) [noodle could possibly be vague slang for his penis.  Many other people insinuated that baking is not something normally done to noodles.  Evidently these people live in some sort of horrible nether-dimension where delicious, delicious lasagna does not exist.]

01:13:08   (?You?re cuter than I thought.?) [I was expecting someone less attractive that has costarred in movies with you in the past, most likely rhyming with Balex Binter]

01:13:18   (?Not too bright though.?) [Keanu reeves is thought by many people to not be an intelligent person]

01:13:24   (??brought you to see me??) [to eat some of the pot brownies that I insinuated you were baking earlier]

01:13:33   (?Do you think you?re the one??) [my acting, or this movie, is ?Number two?, which children use as a slang term for Poo]

01:14:02   (?Balls to bones.?) [there are many other combinations of alliterative/and or rhyming body parts]

01:14:15   (?Open your mouth, say ?ahhhh.?? ?Ahhh.?) [other things that doctors often say are ?turn your head and cough?]

01:14:25   (Oracle holds Neo?s hands in hers) [Masturbation is said to cause hairy palms.  Also, many second graders tell your fortune by predicting you will have a mansion with a big swimming pool, and then spit in your hand to represent the pool.]

01:14:54   (??like you?re waiting for something.?) [like an offer to act in a sequel to one of his other movies]

01:15:18   (?Poor Morpheus.?) [He used to be Cowboy Curtis on Pee Wee?s Playhouse, and this is very embarassing]

01:15:28   (?What do you mean, Without him??) [What she means here is obvious, so she should clarify it in a way that indicates her frustration]

01:15:39   (?Morpheus believes in you, Neo.?) [He also believes in several other imaginary things, with a shockingly high percentage of them being the Easter Bunny]

And, just like in the favorites thread, presence, or lack there of, on the above list didn't necessarily impact your chances of winning...

Argo-Puppy

:D Well the generic riff-off is pretty funny!

MontyServo

Three of the riffs in my entry would also fit in the generic entry.  I guess my entry wasn't as "out there" as I was thinking.

Of course, none of my riffs made it in the "Best Of" entry.  So who knows what that means???

I'm just happy to have participated and I look forward to seeing the winning riffs tomorrow night!

I don't know why I think its so funny that you felt the need to capitalize the word "Poo."

Sharktopus

Anyone else think this Generic Riff was much funnier than the Favorites Riff? Sometimes over-explained jokes are funny after all.

Much funnier.
The "Favs Riffs" are ok to read on paper, but when you're watching a movie and your brain is half turned off, you don't want to have to dig deep to get a joke.

Sharktopus, you might appreciate Marmaduke Explained: http://marmadukeexplained.blogspot.com/

I sense an unsettling trend, with Conor L reassuring people that their presence, or lack thereof, do not necessarily mean they must win, or lose.  I love reading these little riff recap threads, but I'd hate to think they need to avoid ruffling audience feathers to post them.  Most likely we're MSTies!  (Or perhaps MiKEies?)  We've all heard hundreds of jokes we'll have no chance of getting -- we all know that doesn't mean they're bad ones, right?

WouTar

None of these or even remotely like mine. Still, originality does not equal quality.

Yeah, after winners are announced, we might need to make ourselves scarce round these parts.  But it really all comes down to the man who actually picked the winners in the end...the Riffmaster himself.

"The buck stops here!"

Look for my movie on Truman to hit theaters this Friday.  (I wanted to further confuse situation with the multiple Capote movies.)

WouTar

Phillip Seymour Hoffman will always be Capote in my eyes.

Pak-Man

Good call! Who are we to disagree with Mike Fleepin' Nelson on the topic of Riffing? :^)
