The main thing that amazed me about Waterworld is that Kevin Costner...

DRANK HIS OWN PEE!

After the first thirty seconds of that film I was ready to exit stage right. You don't START A FILM BY HAVING THE MAIN CHARACTER DRINK HIS OWN URINE! I don't care if he distilled it first in the hot sun and blah blah blah blah blah HE DRANK HIS OWN PEE! I don't care if that wasn't really his pee it was a special effects trick done with mirrors and no animals were harmed during the making of-- HE DRANK HIS OWN PEE! I have never been able to consider Kevin Costner remotely seriously in a film role ever since.

I know exactly what you mean. When I saw him drink his own urine my first thought was "This does not bode well." I wasn't dissapointed.

I thank you for your good-natured greetings and your much needed mocking of costner.  Indeed Mad Max on Water was perhaps one of many films that must be scrubbed free of my mind.   It pales in comparsion to say, The Final Sacrifice.   Glad to see the riff continues.
