I just recently got these two classics:

I've only just begun Mind Over Matters and already it's absolutely hilarious, which is to be expected of course.  Mike Nelson's talent knows no boundaries.  Except for maybe extreme sugar sculpture.  I'm not sure if Mike could pull off one of these:

But at least Mike isn't a member of the KKK like this sculptor

It's not bad. Most of the reviewers appear to have stopped reading after the first chapter.

I got the audiobook.  I liked it a lot.  The whole time I kept picturing the future world as shown in 12 Monkeys.

Is it as simple as the title suggests?

Haha, thank you book designer, you wrote the ending on the first page.

Actually it isn't.  He explains in a lot of detail about all the things we in the industrialized world take for granted.  About what will happen if no one is around to maintain all these things.

So it's a bit like the basis of  this

Only going even further and wiping out the whole human race not just the Europeans.

I like counterfactuals, I'll see if it's at the library.

I used to write Connections style essays for my GCSE Double Award Science. Excellent stuff.

Just started this (I have a cold, so I'm going through a lot of books). It's about the founding of the Royal Society. Enjoy reading about Newton, Wren, Hooke, etc. in the Baroque Cycle? Learn the reality with this book.

Junkyard

Heavy Planet, by Hal Clement. It's actually a couple of books and short stories in one collection. About a bunch of aliens living on a high gravity planet. Likable, insect like charicters.

Check out the bottom left corner.

Junkyard

Hal Clement is one of the big names in "Hard Sci Fi." He does a lot of explaining, a lot of the tech involved is obviously within the realm of the posible, and the charicters have to face real perils that can't just be wished away with some super-science dues ex machina.
I do really like Hal Clement.
