If Independence Day had a stinger what would it be?

A couple come to mind to me.

The Welcome to Earf.  And punching the alien.

Maybe the really bad effects shot of the dog jumping out of the firestorm.

RobtheBarbarian

How about the frog-voiced guy in his car cringing at the approaching fireball and belching "Imonna haff ta call you back".

Yeah, that one was embarassingly bad.

Or the government official telling Judd Hirsh that he is not Jewish and Judd saying "Well, no one is perfect".

That Connick Jr. guy on his knees looking at Will Smith's butt.

One of Okum's lines:

"They don't let us out much."

or

"This is the vault. Or as some of us like to call it: The Freak Show."

Principal_Skin-trade

"They abused him, sexually"

Basically you could show the whole movie over again as a stinger.  There are too many to pick just one.

"They elected a warrior and they got a wimp"  ;D

Junkyard

I third the Dog scene.

Otherwise, a clip of the guy listening to the radio sound and suddenly banging his head.

SuperMappy

I was thinking that Goldblum looking up from his laptop and saying "Time's up"

or is that too obvious a stinger?

Principal_Skin-trade

Yes, it's a damn shame nobody in the movie said "Holy shit this movie sucks ass!", that would be the perfect stinger.

If you could get the director to say it, that would be the best.

Yup. Independence Day is just a long string of possible stingers held together by the occasional explosion. I haven't watched the Riff yet, but I seem to remember an early scene of Will Smith taking a whiz that sums up the movie pretty well.

Randy Quaid flying his jet into the particle stream of the alien ship.  Kind of a reverse Slim Pickens (Dr. Strangelove).  But why isn't the jet disintegrated when it hits the particle stream?
