Most overrated movies ever

We talked a bit about overrated movies in the "Grease" thread, and I thought it would make an interesting thread on its own (if there hasn't already been one -- I did a quick search and couldn't find one). I've thought of three so far.

"Grease." As previously mentioned. Like someone's nightmare vision of the '50s.

"The Wizard of Oz." And that's coming from a big Judy Garland fan. I love many of her movies. But this one is just so over-the-top I can never get into it, classic status notwithstanding.

"Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" My family and I rented it back when it was hugely popular. We couldn't even get through one viewing. It made "Wizard of Oz" look normal.

There was another one I was thinking of, but it's slipped my memory. I'll post it if I remember it. Any other suggestions?

By the way, I discovered that coming up with a list of overrated movies is a very useful exercise for overcoming insomnia.  :) You're welcome to try this, free of charge.

I don't think "Lost in Translation" should be in the thread.  There has actually been a lot of negative vibe about this movie out there as well.

Chaos

Definitely agree with you on Children of Men, Minnesota. REALLY don't see what the hype was all about with that one. Can't say I see eye to eye with you on Blade Runner though - that is one of the movies that turned me on to Sci Fi movies as a kid... loved it, still love it.

Some of the most overrated movies for me? Anything with Vin Deisel in it. For reasons I just can't comprehend, a lot of people seem to think this dipstick is talented and makes great movies. :P

The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Because of this I think we could be the best of friends.

Plastic Self-Cleaning Duck

Serenity Although the only ones I know of who rate it highly are Firefly fanboys.  Still, it's sooo much fun baiting Browncoats.   :D

Rosemary's Baby.   Interesting story, badly told.

I'm sure there's more but that's how impressed I was with them, I can't remember right now.
