Let this be a lesson to you, kids! Check your spelling or have your post hijacked! ;^)

No kidding! Actually, I like cheesy movies. People take movies too seriously.  ;D

A handful of Oscar winners:

2000 - Gladiator
1998 - Shakespeare in Love
1997 - Titanic
1996 - The English Patient

I'll take Evil Dead over these any day of the week (or weekend.)

Im sorry but Gladiator is probably one of my favorite movies of all time.....so for that we shall do battle.

Personally, I'm not a fan of cheese.  I love real cheese, a ripe Humbolt Fog Cypress Grove is amazing.  But I don't like it in my movies.

Cheese seems to be stuck in the middle.  I like a good serious movie that gets you thinking or gets you feeling.  I also like a good parody that makes fun of a genre or a movie.  But a cheesy movie isn't making fun of the genre or movie, it's trying to be like it, but fails, usually with humorous results.  Film is all about manipulation, and when the movie isn't successful in manipulating me, I have a hard time seeing it as funny.  I usually just think less of the film maker.
