Who is a MST3K fan and a Simpsons fan? I can't wait for the movie. July 27!

Just the general idea of a two hour Simpsons episode makes me go "ehhh". I like the Simpsons, but I just do not think I could handle it outside of the one hour syndication blocks, and the only thing that really keeps me interested is that the plot-line is different. I personally don't think they can stretch the humor out for so long. And even if it does turn out to be bad (which there is a 50:50 chance of), every hardcore Simpsons fan will still praise it as if it were movie of the year.

In other words, I thought it was going to be overrated the day it was announced.

I just saw this today!  Great movie!  Lots of laugh out loud moments.  About as good as you could hope for.

My favorite moments:

A classic.

And just to clarify, I have watched the Simpsons since Day 1 and definitely think that the show's quality has seen better days.  Most episodes in recent years are lucky to make me laugh out loud even once, some have been downright cringeworthy.  Yet I still watch, because it's the Simpsons, and every so often they knock one out of the park.

It's very very funny and pretty to look at, too. I used to be crazy Simpsons fan, but the recent lackluster years have really turned me off. I'm sure the movie would've been twice as good ten years ago, but it's still a hell of a lot of fun. The perfect movie to see with a crowd. I actually clapped, and I never clap at movies. (Because it's retarded.) Give it a chance.

Me and Tyrant scoured the Vegas strip to see this on opening day. We caught a Matinee, so the crowd was actually pretty light. This movie rocks! It's Simpsons at the top of its game, and that's a pretty high bar. :^)

I liked the movie, but watching it in the theater is not the BEST place to watch the Simpsons.  A lot of comedy on the Simpsons is in the little details that you have to freeze frame to notice.  The dvd will make oodles of money for this reason.
