I have to agree with you on this one.  So far, its Surf's up, Shrek 3 and Meet the Robinsons.  I'm not even sure if there are any other strong contenders coming out in 2007.

The Simpsons movie may have something to say about that... :)

Y'know, that didn't even occur to me. I haven't even seen Ratatouille yet, but it's probably a lock.

Considering what I've seen in trailers for "Transformers", they might as well consider that an animated movie.
Am I the only one who looked up recipes for ratatouille online only to go "Eeeeew" when I saw the ingredients.  Not that I won't eat veggies, but I like a meat addition in most cases.

I love Pixar.  Everything they do is great.  That said, here's my list for the way I rank them:

1. A Bug's Life
2. The Incredibles
3. Monster's Inc.
4. Finding Nemo
5. Cars
6. Toy Story 2
7. Toy Story
8. Ratatouille

Ratatouille was good, but there was no reason for it to be that long.  It looked great though.

I saw if Friday.  On the whole, I liked it.

Some things bugged me though:
1. I don't like rats.
2. Linguini  bugged me, it felt like I was watching David Schwimmer doing a Jerry Lewis impersonation.
So, right there, I wanted to shoot both leads.  The rat, at least, grew on me by the end.

Linguini's romantic sub-plot was really hard to believe.  I mean, a rat cooking seemed downright plausible compared to that.

What redeemed it for me was the 'Redemption' of Anton Ego.  You just DON'T see the 'villains' getting that kind of treatment in most movies.  I put it above Cars and A Bug's Life...one of Pixar's lesser works.

I may watch it again, see if it improves on re-watching.  I find several of the Pixar movies do.

I saw the movie right before seeing 1408, and here's what I gotsta say:

AWESOME! Animation was fantastic, story was great, the characters were totally likeable, and the theme was very very good.

I definitely recommend the movie! It made me hungry lol.

Yes, there was. Every scene either moved the plot or developed the characters. And the thing was only an hour and fifty minutes. Seriously, people needlessly complaining about length is one of my biggest pet peeves.

I agree, every single scene furthered the story along, I really don't think anything screen time was waisted.  I think the main issue most people have with it was that is was a very talky film as opposed to slap sticky, and people aren't used to that in an animated movie.  Personally I loved it.
