If you listened to Mikes interview with "Sound of Young America" - http://gammer73.tripod.com/download.htm - he says that one of the things they look at when picking movies is if people have it already on their shelves. I assume this also means availability. Picking an obscure movie makes it hard for the rest of us to find copies.

I do like the idea of a contest for a lucky winner to pick a movie from a list that RiffTrax provides...

I like the idea, but instead of a fixed rate, perhaps they could do an auction, and the winner gets to choose 1 movie from a list of about 10 or so.

Not a bad idea.  Legend has done similar things before... the Plan 9 DVD auctions for example.
