What is/was wrong with John Williams?

Duel of the Fates was great. It's simple to the casual background music listener, but really quite complex if you listen to it alone. The song is dramatic and iconic of some of the most memorable scenes of the prequels. I think Duel of the Fates was the best part of the new trilogy.

As for John Williams losing his talent, what about his magical score for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. It's a mediocre movie at best, but the score really adds that feeling of magic to it. It put the movie in character like nothing else.
