Variety of Cells

Going to necro this thread just to gush to the ether about how I'm excited that the lighting in my home finally works the way I want it to.  I'm now heavily into Lifx light bulbs and more recently I've installed a bunch of their light switches.  They don't dim the lights (which is fine as most of my lights dim themselves), but their buttons are programmable within their app and HomeKit, so I can make them do any combination of things.

Or at least that's what I thought when I bought them, only to find out that HomeKit support was 'coming soon'.  So I had to hack a bunch of work-arounds to get them to kind of work how I sort of wanted.  For example, Lifx switches can switch on and off a regular dumb light (or fan or whatever), but I wasn't able to control those dumb lights from HomeKit, only the Lifx app.  Annoying.  So a scene that is supposed to turn all the lights off in HomeKit wasn't able to access all the lights to turn them off.

Two days ago they finally added HomeKit support, and I'm so happy.  Now I have set everything to respond in a predictable way: single press of the top button turns on that area's lights at a brighter or lower level depending on if it's before or after sunset.  Double tap of that button sets the opposite level for the time of day in the odd case where that's desired.  Long press turns all the lights in the area to full for cleaning.  Single press of the bottom button turns the lights in the area off.  And then there's a few special cases, like the switch by the front door that turns out entire apartment off for when we leave (including the TV).

Thanks for listening.  Now to gush over what else I can make these buttons do.  Still have long press and double tap open on most of the bottom buttons...
