Variety of Cells

Being the first to post that has watched it I suppose I'm obligated to make a thoughts thread.

I like it.  It was good to hear Bill's voice again.  I wasn't wowed by it, but I was thoroughly entertained.  And I can no longer take the word Cerebro or Magneto seriously.

I don't think the whole "riffing a good movie" thing turned out to be much of a problem.  Kind of a Y2Kesque problem.  The jokes were just focused more towards the situations and characters and puns vs crappy acting or directing.

EDIT:  I don't mean to imply that the acting or directing was good, it just wasn't crappy.  Also, I would have said my favorite riff, but I have no idea how to spell it.  It's what Alpha 5 would always say on power rangers, sounds kinda like "I I I"  but with some Y's in there.  Any way... it was funny.

I enjoyed it. thought they got a little too obsessed with the Cerebro/magneto joke, but ah well.

my favorite line was actually near the end, when Wolverine gives Rogue his dog tags, and says "I'll want these back"

Bill: "And so help you god if you lose them... so help you god... SO. HELP. YOU. GOD." heh... cracked me up.

I thought it started out really great.  The riffing on the dark opening of the movie was hilarious and their pot-shots at Canada were also highly amusing.  I agree that the running Cerebro gag got a little old, however and it became patchy towards the end.  Loved the references to MST3k though  ;D

Up until I watched this with the rifftrax, I never realised how much of the movie takes place besides someone on a hospital gurney or how much of an "indoors" movie it is.

AvestheFox

of the reviews I've heard so far, I cant wait to watch it myself.. tomarrow morning will be a morning of X-Men and Rifftrax

it will be a morning unlike any other!

Wiseblood

Until they brought it up in this Rifftrax, it never really occurred to me how not just Mystique's, but most portrayals of shapeshifting powers don't really make a whole lot of sense.

I partly disagree.  I don't know anything about X men, but this is how I'd explain it.  She has the ability to reorganize the matter that makes up her body into anything.  This would allow her to create clothes and weapons and what not.  But, technically she shouldn't be able to make more mass than she has to begin with.

Edward J Grug III

Makes a lot more sense than controling the weather.
FINE

MrTorso

To me it started off really slow. The last third of the movie really picked up. Not my favorite Rifftrax of all time but well worth the $3.

You can tell that Mike doesn't have any kids or he would have done a Y?gi? joke...

Actually, I didn't like this Rifftrax so much.  It had a couple of good jokes but it felt like it didn't have as many as some of the other movies...

Heh.   Mike should break it to his kids that they don't really exist, the next time they piss him off royally.  I think we can all agree, kids have it coming to them.

Gamera

I love this Trax!  Corbett is hysterical.  "Its the Museum of Feet" and "Giant mane of red pubic hair" are forever etched in my memory.

Rifftrax, I thank you.

Hi-Larious once again. I cannot wait until all Bill and Kevin join Mike for a three-way. Keep them coming!

I'm surprised with all the non positive feedback.  This is my 3rd Rifftrax purchase, and by far my favorite so far.  Of the 3 I've bought, my order would be:

X-Men
Star Trek V
Roadhouse

There were so many good lines in this one.

"Up up and a gay"
"Magnificent" "MAGNETOCENT!"
"Eatbirdo"
"How did she grow a cape???!!!"

and my brother and I loved the whole Magneto Cerebro thing.

DonCaballero

"Brains A-Poppin'"

I'm glad I wasn't eating when I heard that line, I would not be alive right now otherwise.

Msampo

Best riffs:

"Sir, I caught a grasshopper! Look!"
"Formerly known as the 13-stripe ground squirrel."
"It's sort of a Hogwarts Montasorri."
"Can I make you lumpy ice ball? Or...?"
"...except your sphincter. Don't relax that."
"Soundtrack?? Is there something you're trying tell us?"
"It's the museum of feet!"
"More exciting hospital gurney action!"
