Lovely, but what did we learn that was deadly?

-Being class president is on par with being president of a 3rd world country. You know who all the drug king pins are and they try and buy your influence. And you can get the police to drop a murder investigation, but you can't count on their help if you decide you want to act against the cartels.
-Transferring to a new school must include the option of enrolling to become a cheerleader when you're enrolling in classes or something.
-Every male in the early 80s made Harvey Weinstein seem nornal.
-Owning a fleet of ocean lining cargo ships doesn't bring in enough to pay for studio time to record your band's demo.

-It's not acceptable to introduce an Eddie Deezen-like sidekick and then not reward us with a scene of him getting killed or at least severely beaten.

The fencing team and the cheerleading squads at high schools are actually formidable fighting forces.

I learned that the boom mic operator was really bad at his job. Drink!

I learned the guys didn't make a call back to Oblivion when Gamorrah was in the movie. Come on, he was in both of them and you made a lot to do about him and his post credit's scene. He deserved better.
I learned they didn't make a Christmas Vacation comment when John Randolph popped up. Come on, he's Clark's dad.
I learned they did make a Yesterday's Target comment on the Karl Malden clone. Good for them.
I learned there was one breasts shot literally out of nowhere at the start, then nothing. Even a cat fight with cheerleaders in the girls locker room didn't have any. What the hell, man. It's like spitting in the eye of the 80's trope to not have any there.
I learned the evil blonde cheerleader at the start disappears after the cocktail cat fight, despite being built up as an adversary.
I learned when Karl Malden clone asks to have Lovely brought to him by Mantis, and he does so, when it turns out Karl made a bad decision, he has Mantis killed for it.
I learned this started out good and silly, then kind of took a nose dive halfway through to something more mundane. We had fencer assassins in the first act, evil cheerleaders, then nothing. Can you imagine the cocaine motorcycle ninjas disappearing after the start of Miami Connection? It was like that.
I learned boom mike. Wow. Just... wow.

I learned the Freddie Kreuger origin story.

I learned...my god those names. Mantis something.....uh, can someone less inebriated than I was when  I watched list some of the crazier names?

In the preview for this Riff there's a bit where bill goes "Boom mike! Drink!"

And I thought it was just a "drinking game" joke to go with what commonly happens in movies of this quality, I didn't know the boom mike appearance/joke was specific to this movie because of there being so many boom mike appearances.

I wonder if the boom mike appearances where due to bad film-making or just this particular "cut" of the film using more of the vertical field than what was initially intended or in a more "common" or final cut.   It was common in MST3K for them to intentionally use a lesser quality cut of the movie because it offered the most material (the famous "teleporting" scene in "Girl in Gold Boots" comes to mind.)

I learned that Mr. Wilhelm from Seinfeld and John from the original V were the same actor.
