The Lurker

There's only two versions currently available: Theatrical and Alan Smithee Cut.  There was also a special tv cut, but that hasn't been re-released since it aired.

The Lurker

Also, Arena would be interesting.  A few tv sci-fi people in the cast.

Stretch Goal ... Maybe ???
How long have fans here been begging for this? I know they said they wouldn't do it because of the different editions out there, but, man, what a wish fulfillment that'd be if it ever did happen.

Just saw the stretch goal for Mortal Kombat! The Bad 90s Video Game Movies Collection would finally be complete! They've done Super Mario Brothers, Street Fighter, and The Wizard. This is the last piece of the puzzle and my personal favorite of all of these. They need $425,000 to get there though. I compiled the final amounts of all the previous Kickstarters and noticed a steady increase. Crossing $500k seems very possible, though it may be cutting it close if this year's titles don't excite people enough:

2013 - $264k
2014 - $265k
2015 - $250k
2016 - $620k
2017 - $430k
2018 - $501k
2019 - $539k

That 2016 anomaly is the MST3k Reunion/Time Chasers btw.

From your mouth to MKB's ears. I'm not saying it's right. Just saying that's the reason they've given before. Outside of the LOTR trilogy, I can't think of any titles they've riffed with multiple editions.

I wouldn't be shocked if it happened after the remake

Which reminds me, how would you feel, RVR, if they riffed Dune 2020 before Dune 84? Lol

I would prefer the 84 version but hey we'll see if either version gets riffed :o

Pak-Man

I'm just hoping the stretch goal path will eventually lead to my long-desired Double Dragon riff.

Oh snap! Forgot about Double Dragon! That means the Mortal Kombat riff would not complete the 90s Video Game Collection. Still, MK is still the best video game adaptation imo.

Speaking of which, 2 days away from the end of the campaign, and we're sooo close to that $425k mark!

WE DID IT!!!

And just baaarely. 433k total! First decline since they started (excluding the MST3k Reunion anomaly). I hesitated about posting again, because I was afraid I was gonna jinx it. It's the most I've ever donated too, because I noticed a decline over the past week and knew they weren't gonna break $500k. The Charade riff woulda been nice, but oh well. I get a free riff out of the whole thing too, so I figured I was gonna be paying that $5 anyway.

Pak-Man

Well don't call it, yet. We still have 27 hours.

I am such an idiot.

I thought my email about "2 days to go" was 2 days ago. Apparently it was just 1 day ago. This week's days have all been smashing together. The bad news is how silly I feel. The good news is that we're only $7k away from that Charade riff now and only 300 backers for the Avengers: Endgame riff (which I want *so* badly [but not quite as badly as The Neverending Story one]) with 21 hours left to go.

Guess I'll see everyone back here in a day. Thanks for letting me know though, Pak!

Pak-Man

Hey, I get it. This week has been one of the most disjointed-in-time weeks I've ever experienced.

stansimpson

WE OFFICIALLY DID IT!!!

And I didn't jinx it either! Mortal Kombat riff is getting done. Avengers: Endgame is getting done. Charade VOD is getting done. Super thrilled about this. Only thing that didn't get funded that I wanted was the Neverending Story riff (which wasn't gonna happen anyway).

Anyway, I can finally celebrate! WOOO!
