What's 'NEXT' for Nicholas Cage?

Sorry for the lack of subtlety in the title, I just couldn't resist.  But after seeing the trailer for Next, I begin to wonder.  Nick seems like an entirely different type of actor in romantic comedies, i.e. good.  Is there a possibility that like us, he sees some of the characters in his 'action' movies to be as ridiculous as we do,  That being said perhaps he's deliberately hamming it up a bit?  I submit into evidence exibit A:

Sideswipe

So does bieng able to see the future increase your relfexes and reaction time?

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

Bob

What's NEXT for him is probably a future rifftrax.

Whether or not the film is bad, the title, NEXT, is one of the stupidest titles I've ever seen in a long time. I mean, Next? What kind of name is that, Next? That's like naming your movie Like. LIKE! The action event of the summer. LIKE! Or, The. Or, And. Would any of you watch a movie with the title "And"? ???
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

I was the same way when Saw II came out; I insisted on calling it Seen.

Next for Nicolas Cage? Obscurity!

No... that is a far easier fate than he deserves.  He deserves a large pot with boiling water, a predator as the cook with an apron that says "Sexy Daddy" on it, and a bright pink table setting on a pitch black tablecloth.

I happened to see this yesterday. It's fairly decent, with some clever scenes which play on the idea that Nick Cage can see two minutes into the future. Unfortunately, it's plagued by:

1: The most pointless bad guys ever. The sinister terrorist group is composed of various nationalities, (There's the token British guy, the token German, the token French chick) and not once do we ever get an idea of why the hell they plan to detonate a nuke.

2: Nick Cage's character is, well... boring. No charm, no suave, no cockness or cool, nothing. The guy can see into the future, you'd think he'd developed some personality traits from being able to do that. It's impossible to believe Jessica Biel would sleep with him after spanding just one day with him.

3: Worst. Ending. Ever. I swear, you will scream in rage at the ending.

I hope Mike and co consider this for a Rifftrax. There's lot to work with, and one can never get enough of dumping on Nick Cage.

Since I have no plans to see it, would you mind telling me the ending (with the spoiler tag on of course) and why it was so bad?

Thanks.

ENDING:...It's nowhere near the worst ending ever

I have to admit I though it was fine and was pretty much what i expected from a Nic Cage action film, sometimes they're really fun, the Rock, National Treasure and sometimes they're kinda goofy fun; Con Air, Gone in 60 Seconds, but I always find them watchable.

His character was actually pretty good till he got in the car with Biel, the opening 20 minutes he was really cool evading people and then his repeated attempts at chatting her up were pretty funny.

but yeah the bad guys were lame.

I'm all in favor of a movie titled "The," as long as it's so bad and cheesy that it inspires a Rifftrax.  The Twenty Questions game for that one would be classic.

Player:  "Does this movie's title begin before the letter M (not counting 'A', 'An', or 'The')?"

I'd watch And Then? the movie....
Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.
