Alien: Covenant (2017)

[MartyS (Gromit)]

I think there is no way to please both camps of fans, those that just want more aliens running amuck, and those that want to see more with the Engineers.

Also, there's no way to avoid being repetitive, there's a limit to how many different ways an alien can burst out of a person.

So the movie didn't explain what happened to Elizabeth Shaw?  It is explained in the novel.

Shaw's fate is revealed in the movie via flashback and a startling reveal.

Thumbs up.  It was extremely nasty and gory, as it should be.  Could have been 30 minutes longer.

The head free-floating in the water was awesome.  The twist ending was obvious but I have such amazing brain power I was able to suspend my cynicism.  The unhappy ending was great.

Meh...Gonna have to watch it again when it's released for home video, but was hoping for a bigger building of the mythogolgy that was hinted at in Prometheus (which I watched again just prior to seeing this). Was better as an Alien movie than Prometheus, but thought Prometheus raised more interesting questions that were all kind of ignored in this one. And the surprise ending was far too easy to see coming.
