AnyDVD is really worth its weight in gold. With it, I get to keep using my old favorite, DVDDecryptor, and I haven't had any problems with new encryption methods that pop up (AnyDVD is constantly being updated, and all updates are free after you purchase AnyDVD).

Also, I noticed (just like SuperDragon) that the audio and timing on this Rifftrax reauthor were the smoothest yet: I didn't have to Compress or Amplify anything in Audacity, and the timestamps given in the Rifftrax readme were dead on (for the first time ever).

As usual in the IT world. There are many ways to do what you want to get done. No one way is correct; just do whatever works for you...

I ripped Casino Royale with DVDFab, worked perfectly.

Heh, okay. I got the impression other people were having trouble with everything except Ripit4me.
Nevermind.  :-[

Alright I'll reopen this thread because I'm pretty inept at everything and need help.  I decided I wanted to try making my first reauthored Rifftrax DVD and, just like me, I pick a difficult one.  I tried using SecretAgentSuperDragon's steps in the main guide and, of course, ran into problems.  So after thinking my computer's to blame I found this thread which talked about the same problem.  Now I've never done anything like this before and the most techy thing I can do is burn a dvd so I would love some assistance.  So if any of you who sucessfully reauthored this movie could give me a step by step guide on how to do it like SecretAgentSuperDragon's guide, I would greatly appreciate it.  I've downloaded all the programs from the main guide and Ripit4me, if that helps.  Thanks in advance.

Google either DVDFab or Ripitforme, and follow their instructions. Pretty self-explanatory. If you get stuck, there are probably hundreds of guides on using dvdfab or ripitforme. Just do a little searching. Ripitforme might be best for you because it is very simple and user friendly. Then burn a backup of the dvd, and basically start from square one of my guide. Should be alright.

Thank you to Ortega and SecretAgentSuperDragon for the help.  I managed to mount the ISO and went through the guide.  I've got three questions though:

1.  The audio was off on my DVD.  The Riffs were synced up but the audio as a whole was a little ahead on the video.  Could someone offer a cure for this?

2.  Is the DVD supposed to have a menu/Is there a way to add the regular DVD menu?

3.  Lastly I'm a fan of subtitles and I ripped them off the disk but I don't know how to add them back in.  Suggestions?

Thanks a bunch guys.  I'm almost there.

Did you run your audio through Delaycut? Don't let rejig correct your AC3 for you. Always run your audio through delaycut. If you want menus, then you'll have to buy a program called TMPGENC DVD author. It will allow you to do menus, but I find it quite extraneous.

And for subtitles, you must rip them off the disk using rejig, having the "convert to .sup format" box checked. Then, when putting it back together in rejig or ifoedit, there's a box that says subtitles. Add them from there. Any other questions, put 'em through to my DVD Guide thread.

I used delaycut like the guide said.
I redid everything again and my audio was still out of sync.  I havn't downloaded rejig because I don't know what to use it for as it's not in the guide and it seems like eveything works except for my audio being wrong.  So should I download rejig?  Will it help me fix my audio problems?

Ortega

I would try using the newer version of Audacity(1.3 beta) and see if that works, and hopefully, you remembered to use delaycut on the Ac3 file before you converted to .wav.  either one of those things could correct the delay error. Or, try ripping the video and audio with Rejig.

As far as subtitles go, try these:

Shinigami has written a comprehensive tutorial on how to make subtitles, so his guides cover everything you need to know.

Well I finally got it.  I added 200 ms to the audio in the IFOedit step and the audio finally was synced up with the video.  Thank you...but I'm not done bothering you all yet.  The movie dialogue audio is really quiet.  I tried amplifying the movie audio in Audacity and it made it louder but the dialogue is still a lot quieter than the music and sound effects.  Anyone know how I can make the dialogue louder without making the action scenes insanely loud?

...

Which audio did you choose when you demuxed the DVD? 2-Channel stereo or 5.1-Surround?

Umm...which step is that and with what program would I have used?  I don't recall setting either one.  In DVD Decrypter I selected 0x80-Audio-AC3/6ch/English and set it to demux but I'm not sure if what that does.  I really just followed the guide.

You selected the 6 channel 5.1 audio.
