Herzog homage?

[talulah gosh]

At 23:17, I thought the movie might be going for an homage to Fitzcarraldo (Herzog movie where a ship is dragged over a mountain literally). Opera music plus boat on river may be something that could happen in a movie without being an homage. Yet there is a scene in Fitzcarraldo where Kinski is on the deck, partially shaved, which is mirrored a few seconds later in Anaconda by that one guy shaving. What says you?
