I sat through this movie once pre-rifftrax, and I have to say I can barely remember a time when I was left so remarkably disappointed, confused, angry, dumbfounded and afraid.   :speechless: Weeks after seeing it, I would be lying in bed when a horrible plot hole would blindside me. "Why did Barry Pepper never grow facial hair through the span of the movie?!? AAaAaaAHhhHH.  :gouge:  My friend bought the DVD used, then immediately after viewing it, gave it to me. While trying my darnedest to avoid looking directly at the screen, I began peeling off the used sticker, when lo, i did discover another used sticker beneath that from a different store, and another beneath that. In total, my copy of Battlefield Earth had been owned by no less than four people before me and possibly more. The disc itself...virtually flawless. Meaning it had probably only been watched about four times. The funniest part was that one of its previous owners had apparently used it as a cup holder as evidenced by a coffee ring around Travolta's elongated and dreadlocked face. (Perhaps the finest possible use for Battlefield earth until the rifftrack came out.) I just watched it again with the track and while still nearly unwatchable, I managed to enjoy the merciless and completely deserved ribbing that the guys gave it. Only the combined power of the THREE couId have effectively tackled this monster, and hearing them together again brought a spark of joy to my heart. I actually applauded Bill during his Pyramid scheme rant.  .

I ask you all to share in your experiences with Battlefield Earth so that we may heal. Thanks everybody. And bless you Bill, Kevin, Mike and all those responsible for keeping Hollywood within the realm of ridicule. Rifftrax Rox.

Hah....dead horse..... and the beating... ;D

But seriously, I would like to hear how the rest of you came about BE, the horror it's caused and your thoughts about the riff. Thanks.

Luckily, I never watched it until I got the Rifftrax for it, so not much of an interesting story there.  I was just dumbfounded myself on how BAD the movie actually was.  I mean, do actors seriously read some of the scripts they're given before filming a movie?  Kinda odd when Forest Whitaker, a later-to-be oscar winning actor, gets sucked into THIS trash.  Well, at least he redeemed himself.  Travolta, however, really can't be forgiven for this.

I watched it before rifftrax did it, thought it was fun how there seemed to be 3 different movies going on.

I watched 10 or 20 minutes of it on TV, then turned it off. This was way before RiffTrax came into existence.

I had the honour of watching this at the cinema.  I loved it.  Laughed my ass off throughout the entire thing.  And I got paid to do so.   ;D

So you can't say, "Not even if you paid me," huh? I guess a little money can make anything more bearable . . .  and that's definitely what you'd have to do to get me to see the majority of movies that come out these days. Anybody see the commercials for Disturbia? Can we say Rear Window rip-off?

Yes, I saw that advertised as well. You know when you're ripping off Hitchcock, you've really run out of ideas.

"Okay...picture this...birds! Millions and millions of birds flying everywhere...attacking...people! We'll call it...The Flying!"

Yikes. Poor Hitch.

Also, 'The Birds' was an adaption of a novel.

Disturbia is NOTHING at all like Rear Window.

Jimmy Stewart was in Rear Window and he is not in Disturbia.   Man, you guys are pathetic.

Nope, no Grace Kelly either.    So when the kid sees Raymond Burr, er, David Morse hiding a body, you will see the movies are nothing alike.

Man, I bet you think that Yojimbo and A Fistful of Dollars are similar too.
