Have had my Steam Deck for 3 weeks now and love, love, love it. Was worried that the Steam OS would be limiting and that I might have to install Windows onto an SD card to play some games, but have yet to find a Steam game that won't run on it and have gotten a number of non-Steam Windows games to run well too (including my all time favorite game - Simpsons Hit and Run). Other fear was that the screen would be to small but it hasn't been an issue. Battery life really better than I feared too - not awesome, but seeing 3 to 6 hours of play depending on type of game. No fan whine like some complain about - fan actually very quiet compared to my laptop or some other handhelds I own - and it doesn't get anywhere close to what I would consider hot.
But it's not perfect. It does occasionally freeze for a few seconds or totally kick out of graphically intense games after about an hour or so of play but not often or consistantly. Haven't had to fiddle with settings at all to get games to run but have had to adjust and customize controller settings for some games.

OMG! SAMESIES!!! I've been loving my Steam Deck as well and I can't wait until September when I will buy a 1TB microSD card so I can vastly extend my on-deck library!

I bought a 1TB micro SD card on sale 6 months before getting my Steam Deck. Bought specfically for the Steam Deck and didn't think it would be sitting there for 6 months, but glad I got splurged and went that big

Grim Fandango, Manny Calavera is the bomb.

Game where you are a kid shrunk down to the size of an ant and have to survive in a back yard.  Explore, solve puzzles, build bases, fight off angry insects trying to kill you, and figure out how to get yourself back to normal size.

It needs a decently powerful system to run, the fans on my system all go to 100 while running it (9700K+3070Ti), so CPU and GPU need good cooling.  But with all the graphics settings cranked up to max it looks fantastic.  All the detail they put into the stuff in the back yard is amazing.

It's really made for multi-player, I tried solo on "mild" and it got too be way too much of a grind to level up after about 4 hours.  Played for another 8 hours in creative but in that mode you are locked out of the story.  It has a custom difficulty mode and that has been what I'm about 30 hours into now, I basically just turned off the insect aggression.  Like I said in solo it's hard to level up but you have to level up to fight off the more aggressive insects.  If you are good at perfect blocks and fighting in games it would probably be much easier to play in one of the normal modes solo but even the inventory system seems to be set up for multi-player.

Have been looking for something that isn't too hard, doesn't take a lot of thought, and can be picked up for an hour here and a half hour there. Serious Sam games have long been my go to for that, but have run through them all multiple times. Saints Row IV is checking those boxes for me so far. Didn't play the first 3 and IV is a few years old -picked because age made for a cheap steam buy - runs great on Steam Deck. A bit repetitive but meets my need for dumb mindless alien killing.

GTA 5
My love, I can play for hours and hours.

Been playing a lot of Astro Colony lately.

It's still early access so constantly getting stuff added but right now it's more factory automation than colony building.  You do need to bring in a few astronauts and keep them fed in order to progress with your factory automation but that's about the limit of the "colony" aspect a the moment.

You build out your space platform, mine asteroids floating by, travel to planetoids to mine them, and build your devices and conveyor belts to move resources around to make parts for building different devices and so on.

Pastor of Muppets

I bought a copy of Undertale last week.  I played through first on Neutral, where I killed a lot of regular monsters but spared the bosses.  Then I played through on True Pacifist.  Then I decided to try a Genocide run.  Before that started, I got treated to a few minutes of Flowey the flower scolding me on resetting the timeline and erasing the good ending.  Now I feel guilty enough to do another pacifist run.

I had no idea that Genocide was so hard.  I knew that Sans was notoriously difficult, but I didn't expect Undyne the Undying to be so hard too.  She hits hard, and fast.  I don't see how it's humanly possible to react to all her arrows that quickly.  Seems like the only way to win is to memorize everything so that you know the whole fight by muscle memory.  Or maybe I can get my 14 year old nephew to beat her for me.
I'm not particularly religious, and I don't really like Muppets, but I do love word play.

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe
Hadn't played it before. Got a good 4 hours of entertainment out of it and if I didn't hit every ending I came awfully close. Nornally would be pissed at a game this short and repetitive, but for 10 bucks I got more laughs out of it than I get out most movies. Almost quit when it appeared as if the deluxe in the ultra deluxe version was nothing more than a bucket. Glad I didn't.

Just finished The Sinking City. Some flaws, but mainly a very good and engaging Lovecraftian game. Started on Gris now -- lovely imagery and music, fairly simple puzzle solving gameplay, a nice palate cleanser before I start a longer/darker game.

The Donut Team mod of Simpsons Hit and Run on my Steam Deck. Loving it. New story and missions for the only good Simpsons game. Amazing what fans can do.

The Metroid Prime Remaster is such a dream to play. Improves and already incredible game.

I finally started playing Breath of the Wild. It's pretty good. Check it out.

I just started playing Diablo IV. It feels like Classic Diablo, in a grindy, memorable way. I'm enjoying it for it's mindless slaughter and somewhat interesting story.
