RIP Lauren Bacall

[MartyS (Gromit)]

And the sadness keeps coming...

Lauren Bacall gone at 89.

A truly legendary actress.

Her very first movie is one of my all time favorites "To Have And Have Not".

I'll be honest, I'm surprised she was still alive.  The Big Sleep was one of the all time great noir films and Lauren was one of the all time great femme fatales.

I thought the same thing.  With how long ago Humphrey Bogart died, I just assumed that she had passed.

The last time I saw her was on "The Sopranos", she played herself when Christopher went to LA to try and get Sir Ben Kingsley to be in his slasher movie.

My favourite film of hers was "The Big Sleep". I loved the way she would only look at Bogart out of the corner of her eye. It didn't come across as nervousness, (which is, apparently, what it was), it came across as haughty confidence, as if to say, "You are not worthy of my full countenance!"

Glorious woman!
