There's a possibility I'll be picking up a Rift.  I love flight simulators, and the rift excels in a cockpit.  Apparently the sense of immersion is pretty crazy. 

There are only three downsides that I can tell that might hinder my purchase.  First is that you can't see the keyboard.  Flying with just a joystick would be fine, but switching from a joystick to keyboard would be tricky.  You can't really see what's around you. 

Second, I get motion sickness if the FoV isn't set right in a game.  After hearing reports of people becoming sick with the Rift, I'm worried I'll suffer the same fate.  I read how the most recent prototype includes a screen with a much lower response time which is supposed to help, but I haven't heard any reports as to if it actually does help or not.  I will have to find a place to try it out before I decide to purchase.

And of course price will be an issue.  If it's $300 that'd be a pretty easy sell for me.  But if it's the rumored $500 or more, then I'm not so sure.

I pre-ordered DK2. 350 ain't a bad price, although shipping is 22 bucks. Haven't tried it yet but so far what I've seen, the people who use it become converts.

I heard Sony is targeting a $1k price point for their version. Valve has been hush about what they have but I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes vaperware.

$1000.00???  For a product only compatible with a few ps4 games?  Seems unlikely. I could see $600, maybe $700. Too steep for me, but $1000 seems too steep for most people.

I'd pay $400 for a rift, if it doesn't make me sick. Looking forward to your impressions of it.

I guess the Valve option might be more of a VRcade kind of thing since their demo used an entire room

Speaking of which, last I heard VRcade realized they needed the tech to be wireless and is needing funding.
