HEY, HEY! I LIKE THESE! I LIKE THESE VODS, THRASHALLA! I'M GOING TO BUY THESE AND WATCH THEM! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!

MrTorso

I really like the idea of the "Best of" specials because it might give a boost to the lesser selling titles and maybe if sales turn around we get more of that type of riff. Also with 160 or so full length riffs it is good to find ways to promote the back catalog.

As far as the Rifftrax Specials of previously unriffed stuff goes.... if they are good they will make me antsy and begging for the full movie to be riffed..... I hope that the chance that some special might turn in to a full length VOD title is a possibility.

So you're moving towards a system of riffing only portions of movies now?

I'm skeptical, but the price is right so I'll give it a chance.

AH - Silent Rage did give me a good idea. You could do a bunch of cool stuff with "TV specials" from horrible shows of eras past. Kinda like the Incredible Hulk episode, only mixed with other things. Old TV is Midas Eyes for this type of special cut up. Someone cut up the 70s commercials from the Star Wars Holiday Special on youtube and made a hilarious mix of just the commericals - Id love to see a old commericals special - you do the school safety, etc shorts but no commericals - could make an awesome special. I can just imagine all the surreal juxtapositions you could do.

Was hoping for a new VOD but since it's the second to the last night living in a place that's very special to me (don't worry, I'm not talking about the planet earth but a house deep in the wilderness) I'm watching this.
Hope it doesn't get too much in the way of new VODs.

We found it unsatisfying and over-priced, sorry. Won't be buying any more of them.
FINE

Yeah, I can't say I was terribly thrilled with it. Kudos for trying something new, for realsy, but this just wasn't all that filling. It's okay, though, because I still have some back catalog stuff to catch up with.

I enjoyed the Special more than the Best Of. Reminded me of the old MST3K Blockbuster specials. I will say that I'd just about kill for a full-length riff of the Lawnmower Man, though. I'd forgotten how weird and doofy that movie was, and I was laughing pretty hard through most of that segment. So a VOD of that one... oh yeah, I'm there.

It's an interesting idea, if I had a little more money to blow this week I'd at least pick up the special.  I'll probably try it in a week or so.

The price points really are because of how much work goes into them, especially the specials because that's all new content and it has to be screened, reviewed, written, and recorded from scratch. They were a lot of fun to do but, compared to a normal release, a TON of work.

I would think the "Best Of" could be priced lower (if not free), since the riffed segments are already done and your main money gain would be from selling more of the full-length riffs. I already own every riff, so I don't expect to be buying any of these VODs.

As for the special, I'll probably try it and then make a judgement about future purchases from that.

I'm confused on what's being offered.  Is this basically a Rifftrax clip show?  Because that's what it sounds like.

Exactly that with a bunch of talking from the guys in between.

Was surprised at how little riffing there was in the special.
FINE

I'm passing on the "Best of" one. The special is intriguing, but I have a feeling it'll just really bum me out because there probably won't be full length riffs of them.

Bob

And downloading them now.

I guess for a cover, this will be the chance to use the "special shorts" cover that we wanted to use and put these two on one DVD and one cover.  I will do that tomorrow and provide a link to it.

I KNEW there would be a chance to use that cover.....
