I've been posting a lot recently, so I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself proper like a polite person.

I'm Chris, I'm a filmmaker/performer/what-have-you currently in Orlando. I'm currently working on two projects: Return of Pink Five, a star wars parody which i'm co-writer/VFX supervisor on, and Geekza, a podcast which I co-host every Sunday night. I've been a big MST3k fan for an extremely long time (my extended family is from the Twin Cities area so I actually caught some of the KTMA episodes when I was a kid) so it's no surprise that I would start hanging out here.

Geekza has been exploring the format of producing a live podcast lately so we did a commentary of Last Crusade (which TorgosPizza was very nice to post about last week!) and we're thinking about doing more. In any case, I kinda like it here and see no reason not to post a bit.

So, uh.... hi. :)

Cool!

Do you know a person by the name of Starr Hoffman, from McKinney, TX?

She's a friend of mine, and probably Pink Five's biggest fan!!

Here's a pic of her in costume:

Yep, I'm quite familiar with Starr and her antics. I'm one of the few on the crew that *hasn't* been able to meet her, though. In any case, SMALL FRICKIN' WORLD, eh?

From your avatar, you look like Brian Austin Green

Never heard that one before. When my hair was longer i got Crispin Glover, but that's more cause I'm tall and wiry than face.

Heh I had a set of grandparents, as well as two uncles and an aunt start out as 'snowbirds', who eventually came to stay in Deland, Orlando, & Apoppka(sp?). For those of you who are currently looking at the screen in bewilderment (and you know who you are)  It's a semi-unflattering term applied to people who travel south to avoid the winter, but then return in summer, much like migratory birds, (or Rush Limbaugh, lol)  Anyhue, to the business at hand...

Greetings and Salutations New-Member Type Personage, feel free to walk quietly among other members of these forums, but know their power for they are your rivals. Quietly crush them as you work diligently through the night.  Pay attention to the Platypus behind the curtain, for he is your ally.  Drink deeply and lustfully from the foamy draught of Evil that is Tarantulas... Here take these items and use them to aid you in your toils... *Gives ChrisHanel a Smoking Jacket (with several packets of designer smoke), a Mexican Bean-Bag Chair , and a tin of freshly made Artificial Demon Dog Cookies, made with Genuine Artificial Demon Dogs* ...and Uh, do it to the other guy before he does it to you, and be bad to the bone.  Won't you?  Thank you...

Holy teacups, Batman!  I'm getting too lazy even for these form letters!  Oh, well.  Better late than never, sez I.

Official BBQ Platypus "Welcome to Insert Forum Name Here" Cookie-Cutter Form Letter:

Greetings, New(ish) Poster(s)!  As of now, my feelings toward you are completely neutral! May they remain neutral or better for many a month, before you say something that annoys me slightly until about a week later when I forget about it! Then, may they remain neutral again!

Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

Yeah 11 days, you've surpassed yourself yet again BBQ.  Don't  worry about it, I couldn't find time to be online, and as such I missed 3 members  who had their birthdays, (not to mention the fact that my average has slipped by almost 4 points...)

I dunno, 'snowbirds' doesn't seem very unflattering - it sounds sweet like a kind of snack cake.  White icing with little sprinkles.

Ummm... I think you're getting your 'snowbirds' confused with 'snowballs'......

Hebs

Ha!  That's definitely true.  Why did they make them pink?

Either....  Seriously tough I have no idea I had sen some that were white, though not as often.  Maybe it was the idea of an exec that comes from a part of the country that never sees that much snow....
