I love Airplane and Airplane II: The Sequel. I watched both those movies when I was a kid, but as you get to my age, the late 80's, you get to understand some of the dirty jokes a lot better, especially the one in Airplane II when this stewardess says to a priest "Put your head between your knees, between your OWN knees, father".  ;D

"There's a sale at penny's!"
I love Johnny.

Yeah, for some reason I never could make the YouTube button work either.  So I cheat and use the Flash button instead. then I remove the '?' and the '=' sign and put the 'v' betwixt slashes...  I think that's everthing....  Oh yeah and remeber to change the height and width settings, as Flash only creates a 200x200 pixel screen...

By the way, has anyone visited Penney's lately?

I think you'll find that the company has updated its image for the better, and you'll always find a good deal!

(p.s. yes, I'm a plant.  ;))

Yes, I as I understand it, 'it's all inside....'

(so have you been watered recently, had your soils' PH balance checked recently, gotten enough sunlight and all that?  :rimshot:)

Actually, it's no longer inside.

Now, it's Every Day Matters.

*shrug*

"You ever been in a cockpit before?"
"No sir, I've never been up in a plane before!"
"You ever...see a grown man naked?"

PirateGrl

I liked the, "It's all inside." Little jingle thing.

I didn't like it at all. Thought it was quite annoying.

I loved all the Zucker / Abrahms / Zucker films. (Although I don't think they had any involvment in the Airplane! sequel)

Top Secret is a nice little hidden gem if you've never seen it before. I don't think it's nearly as solid as Airplane! or the first Naked Gun, but it's still sidesplittingly funny at times. They did an outstanding job with all the sight gags, even if maybe they went a bit too far with all the "let's have Val Kilmer sing some more!" sequences. When wagering on woman's tennis, always bet against the heterosexual.

As far as the old "Police Squad" TV series, I finally picked it up on DVD. To be honest, it left me just a little flat compared to what I remembered of it back in the day. About 15 years back, I used to rent the VHS versions from the local video store once a year or so... just loved it. Maybe I'm a more jaded soul nowadays, but it didn't really hold up that well. They had a lot of good gags, most reused at some point in the Naked Gun series, but a lot of just kinda 'meh' stuff. The most jarring part of the whole thing was listening to the commentary from the Zucker brother and company. Let's just say that, for the most part,  they didn't come across as being very impressed with their own work. Obviously, they didn't write and direct every episode... but on more then one occasion they dropped "good thing this was cancelled" type of comments.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned that one line.  Surely, you guys can't be serious!

Indeed we are, and don't call us Shirley. :^)

Ah yes, my favorite lines from Airplane II: The Sequel

"Then How'd he survive?"
"No I'm afraid not, we lost Howie the next day"
"Over macho grande?"
"No, I don't think I'll ever get over macho grande... those wounds go too deep."

Striker: Simon was a fool to eject now.
Elain: You mean...?
Striker: That's right... Premature Ejection

Elaine: Who's Buck Murdock Ted?
Striker: He's a guy I flew with during the war...
Elaine: And he's still alive?
