Well, if you reauthor the rifftrax, that makes the dvd region free, so you can play it on any kind of dvd player.

?? I think we're talking apples and oranges.

(1) There's no region 2 (UK)  'theatrical' version.  Only the Director's Cut.

(2) Many fine upstanding UK residents don't have DVD players that can play region 1 (USA) disks - and don't necessarily have the tools or expertise to reauthor a rifftrax.

Some Brits do have multi-region players, so they can go buy the USA version of the film from a USA site. This is what I'll probably be doing if it turns out the Rifftrax is definitely for the theatrical release.

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure it's the theatrical release. BUT please wait until the daytime tomorrow - I will confirm this for you.

Any word on this TP?

Also, can you confirm that it will be released this Friday?

Thanks.

It looks like we may have gone with the Unrated Director's Cut. This is the version that plays by DEFAULT when you put the two-version disc into your player.

Here is the item on NetFlix so you can compare:

And yes, Friday is the scheduled release date.

You MAY have? How could you not know?!?!?!?!  ;)

BTW, what makes the unrated director's cut so much more special? Is there a whole extra 3 seconds of the bee scene?

I think you get the pleasure of seeing Cage's legs being smashed rather than just hearing it happen offscreen.   And if we watch this, we want to see Cage in as much pain as possible, so lets see some smashing.

Man, every clip I see of that movies just looks ridiculas.   At what point during shooting to Cage just think to himself "well, we are too far into shooting for me to quit and not get sued, might as well go for it"?

In poker, they call that "pot-committed."  :)

He should have looked at his hand (er, script) and folded before the betting started.

Brings a whole new meaning to the term "hole cards."   :P

As in, they were smoking so much marijuana during filming that they believed they were producing a masterpiece?  Because that interpretation makes a lot of sense ...

I just got it off of Netflix, the only version they have is the Unrated.  It is NOT the flip disc.
