I remember watching the original Wicker Man in a film class.  Ah, Edward "The Equalizer" Woodward.  Somehow, I doubt Nicolas Cage could ever live up to that guy.

Michael, Son of Nell:

DAMNATION, sir!

Damnation unto thee, and all of thine, for thou makest me now procure mine own copy of The Man of Wicker; e'en when t'was free from charge did I not cast mine eyes upon yon lowly cinematic beast.
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

What's sad is that Cage used to be a decent actor and has been in some really good films (Wild at Heart, Raising Arizona, Adaptation, Bringing Out the Dead, etc.). But following up The Wicker Man with Ghost Rider, man, talk about career suicide.

Do we have an answer on which version?

From what I can tell, the only difference between the two releases is that one is Full Frame (Blecccch!) and one is Widescreen.  The rated and unrated versions of the movie are on the same disc.

To be fair, he's been doing terrible movies for just as long. The problem is, unlike your Michael Caines and your Sam Jacksons, he doesn't necessarily improve everything he does.

Ghost Rider is raking in the bucks though, and that will be enough to keep Nic well employed for at least a few more years.  Besides, that Best Actor Oscar on his mantle will ensure that he will always have work.  Hopefully, he will get back to making more decent films and less of the other kind.

Thanks! I hope it's the same cut they use for rifftrax.
EDIT: Although all the Amazon listings for the 2006 version of this movie include both cuts so I'm probably safe.
EDIT 2: Assuming Cedar Rapids, Iowa's ad has the same deal as that ad (which is apparently from the northeast)
