The Astronaut Farmer

OK. I hate to pass judgement before a movie gets released, but this is the stupidest idea for a movie ever, right? It's not just me, is it? I just can't see how the plot can redeem itself. Can anyone tell me how this might be a good idea for a movie? It almost looks like it's trying for an Oscar or something, but it's a movie about a guy who builds a rocket ship in his barn... Is there something I'm missing  here. I can't get past that premise. :^)

Every time the promo comes on, my BS meter comes out and we both are horrified by it.

Really, a farmer can launch a man in space when only a handful of countries can do that?   I hope other nations dont fear being taken over by "The Farmer" (that can be his evil Batman inspired nickname).

yeah but that one farmer is an exastronuats, and if there is anyone thing they are known for its BUILDING spaceships.  in the same sense that i drive a car, i know how its made CLEARLY.
