It is not streaming.  If you've ever bought a video from us before, like a short, it is a downloadable file.

You also have the option of instead buying a burnable DVD image.  Somehow Video On Demand became what we call these downloadable files, despite that being a commonly accepted term for streaming video, like Netflix Instant.

We called it VOD back when we were still using DRM and the term just stuck...but yeah, the files are all downloadable and the mp4 and wmv files are optimized for portable devices.

The formats/encoding? Not for the time being.

I used the arrival of these two new VOD's to go back and organize all the VOD's I've bought.  I was thinking it'd be nice to fix up the old "Troll 2" and "Missile to the Moon  [with Fred Willard]", which I think are only available as DivX format.  I ran them through Handbrake so I could end up with something I could import to iTunes and play on an iPad, but my guess is that the video quality suffers along the way!
