Man, I loved Rainbow.  In actuality, it was a very kid's friendly show (sort of like Barney) but this episode was done for a laugh between the cast and crew, hence the innuendo.

That was awesome! It still bows before the might of Schappi, though...

Thom_Serveaux

Yeah, I even experimented with cut and pasting 6 identical versions side by side and adding the 'move' tag as well...  Sort of 'sing-a-long in the round from hell'...   I'd tell you what happened, but it's all kind of hazy......

oh duke eh'  very nice.  and how did you get that?  By exploiting the posters, the lower classes of us simply wish to post our thoughts on the riffs.

The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite,

held Excalibur aloft from the bosom of the water to signify by

Divine Providence ...  that I, Groucho, was to carry Excalibur ...

That is why I am your king...er....Duke.

Look,  strange women lying on their backs in ponds handing out

swords ... that's no basis for a system of government.  Supreme

executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from

       some farcical aquatic ceremony.

You can't expect to wield supreme executive power

just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!

I mean, if I went around saying I was an Emperor because some

moistened [censored; don't know what it means so I ain't taken chances] had

lobbed a scimitar at me, people would put me away!

NOTE:  I had to finish the quote.

That's interesting to find out. The website I got this from said that this show never aired. I knew the innuendo was obviously intended, I just didn't know that it was from a show that enjoyed some success.

I imagine this particular episode never aired, but yes, Rainbow ran for years.  Just without all the sexual innuendo.

sarcasm_made_Easy

heh, one gots to wonder why they filmed it and saved it.  One further has to wonder how they kept straight faces the whole time.

Thom_Serveaux

Well, for the guy in the bear suit and the puppets, I'll wager it was much easier for them...
